About this readme file
This readme file provides information about how to install the fix for purging key frames in a dual File System configuration.
Included in this interim fix
The following reported program defects are fixed:
- Key frames are now purged and deleted from the second file system. A threading error that caused some directories to be missed is also fixed.
Prerequisites
You must have administrative access to update the IBM Intelligent Video Analytics (IBM IVA) V1.5 Smart Surveillance Engine (SSE) servers.
Installation
This fix requires you to update the MILS component of IBM Intelligent Video Analytics. The fix package contains the following files:
- 1.5.0.0-IVA-PO03422-readme.htm
This readme file.
- 1.5.0.0-IVA-MILS-PO03422.zip
An archive file that is used to update the MILS machines. This file contains the files:
- KFPurgerJob.class
- DeleteCTDKFsForDay.class
Installing the MILS fix
- Extract the contents of the fix package archive file, 1.5.0.0-IVA-MILS-PO03422.zip,
into a temporary directory on a machine that has network access to the MILS server.
- Stop the HTTP Server service on the MILS server:
- On a Windows server:
- Log on to the MILS server as a system administrator.
- Click Administrative Tools > Services to start the Windows Service Manager.
- Stop the "IBM HTTP Server 7.0" service.
- On a Linux server:
- Log on to the MILS server as root.
- Enter the command:
/opt/IBM/SVS/HTTPServer/bin/apachectl stop
Note: In a MILS cluster, issue the Linux command on the primary WebSphere cluster node:
- Start a browser session and log on to the WebSphere Application Server administration console at:
http://<milsServer>:9060/ibm/console
- Navigate to Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications.
The Enterprise Applications screen is displayed.
- Create a backup of the existing milsng application:
- Select milsng.
- Click Export.
- Select milsng.ear.
- Click Save.
- When the download completes, close the pop-up message window.
- Click Back.
- Replace the KF Purger Job class:
- On the Enterprise Applications screen, select milsng.
- Click Update.
- Select "Replace or add a single file".
- In the first text field, enter:
lib/milsngLib.jar/com/ibm/mils/scheduler/job/KFPurgerJob.class
- Select Local file system.
- Click Browse.
- Navigate to the temporary directory where you extracted the contents of the fix package archive file,
and select the KFPurgerJob.class file.
- Click Open > Next > OK to update the milsng application.
- When the update has ended, click "Save directly to the master configuration".
- Wait for the Enterprise Applications screen to be displayed.
- Replace the Delete CTDKFs For Day class:
- On the Enterprise Applications screen, select milsng.
- Click Update.
- Select "Replace or add a single file".
- In the first text field, enter:
lib/milsngLib.jar/com/ibm/mils/scheduler/job/DeleteCTDKFsForDay.class
- Select Local file system.
- Click Browse.
- Navigate to the temporary directory where you extracted the contents of the fix package archive file,
and select the DeleteCTDKFsForDay.class file.
- Click Open > Next > OK to update the milsng application.
- When the update has ended, click "Save directly to the master configuration".
- Wait for the Enterprise Applications screen to be displayed.
- To automatically delete the files that were missed because of this defect:
- Navigate to the .../HTTPServer/htdocs/milsng/system/ directory.
- Rename the file SVSpurger.properties to SVSpurger.properties.bak.
- Restart the HTTP Server service on the MILS server:
- On a Windows server:
- Log on to the MILS server as a system administrator.
- Click Administrative Tools > Services to start the Windows Service Manager.
- Start the "IBM HTTP Server 7.0" service.
- On a Linux server:
- Log on to the MILS server as root.
- Enter the following command:
/opt/IBM/SVS/HTTPServer/bin/apachectl start
Note: In a MILS cluster, issue the Linux command on the primary WebSphere cluster node.
Uninstallation
Uninstallation is not supported for this interim fix. Ensure that you back up your environment before installing this fix.
