This readme provides information about the patch available in this interim fix.
This fix can be installed on WebSphere Sensor Events 7.0.
Included in this interim fix
Multiple fixes for Asset Visibility Client addressing following issues:
- Refresh menu Item not working;
- Tag Details window appearing outside of screen visible area;
- Area Details window appearing outside of screen visible area;
- Area Creation window appearing outside of screen visible area;
Prerequisites
Prerequisites for Microsoft Windows® operating systems
- You must have Administrator access to update the WebSphere Sensor Events server.
- It is assumed that the WebSphere Sensor Events server is already installed.
- It is assumed that the following APARs are already installed:
- APAR IC78286 - includes multiple fixes;
- APAR IC79587 - "Unable to install IBM Real-Time Asset Locator and use APIs if Maximo security is enabled".
Prerequisites for Linux® and AIX® operating systems
- You must have Administrator access to update the WebSphere Sensor Events server.
- It is assumed that the WebSphere Sensor Events server is already installed.
- It is assumed that the following APARs are already installed:
- APAR IC78286 - includes multiple fixes;
- APAR IC79587 - "Unable to install IBM Real-Time Asset Locator and use APIs if Maximo security is enabled".
Installation
Installation procedure for Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Create a folder named maintenance in the WebSphere Sensor Events server <WSE installation path>\WSE directory.
- Unpack the .zip file, IT00232.zip, to the <WSE installation path>\maintenance directory. The .zip file contains these files:
- IT00232\IBM_WSE_RTAL_Client.ear
- IT00232\wseClient.jar
- IT00232\IT00232-readme.html
- IT00232\WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IT00232.fxtag
- Create a folder named backup in the <WSE installation path>\maintenance\IT00232 directory.
- Back up the existing IBM_WSE_RTAL_Client.ear to the <WSE installation path>\maintenance\IT00232\backup directory as described in the technote,
Updating EAR files for WebSphere Sensor Events.
- Apply this update to IBM_WSE_RTAL_Client.ear as described in the technote,
Updating EAR files for WebSphere Sensor Events.

Open in the text editor index.html file located under <Webpshere installation path>\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01\installedApps\WSENodeCell\IBM_WSE_RTAL_Client.ear\ibmse_rtal_client_war.war.
In index.html file, update the 'value' attributes for <param> tag that have 'name' attributes 'baseUrl' and 'server' with the fully qualified server name, in following sections:
- under <object> tag:

<param name="server" value="fully_qualified_server_name" / >
- under <embed> (nested inside <comment> tag):
baseUrl="http://fully_qualified_server_name"
server="fully_qualified_server_name"
- Stop the WSE server.
- Navigate to the <WSE installation path>\lib directory and copy the wseClinet.jar file to the <WSE installation path>\maintenance\IT00232\backup directory.
- Navigate to the <WSE installation path>\maintenance\IT00232 directory and copy the wseClinet.jar file to <WSE installation path>\lib
- Start the WSE server.
- Navigate to the <WSE installation path>\maintenance\IT00232 and copy the WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IT00232.fxtag file to the <WSE installation path>\properties\version directory.

Uninstallation
Uninstallation procedure for Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Reinstall the backup IBM_WSE_RTAL_Client.ear as described in the technote,
Updating EAR files for WebSphere Sensor Events.
- Copy the backup wseClinet.jar file to <WSE installation path>\lib
- Delete the WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IT00232.fxtag file from the <WSE installation path>\properties\version directory.
- Restart WebSphere Application Server.
Uninstallation procedure for Linux and AIX operating systems
- Reinstall the backup IBM_WSE_RTAL_Client.ear as described in the technote,
Updating EAR files for WebSphere Sensor Events.
- Copy the backup wseClinet.jar file to <WSE installation path>/IBM/WSE/lib
- Delete the WebSphere_Sensor_Events.IT00232.fxtag file from the <WSE installation path>/IBM/WSE/properties/version directory.
- Restart WebSphere Application Server.
