Fix (APAR): PM22029 Status: Fix Release: 6.1.1.2 Operating System: AIX,HP-UX,Linux,Solaris,Windows,z/OS Supersedes Fixes: NONE CMVC Defect: 22029 Byte size of APAR: 11071 Date: 2010-10-15 Abstract: Errors occur when augmenting Virtual Enterprise with WebSphere Application Server and the Feature Pack for Modern Batch. Description/symptom of problem: PM22029 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: During the augmentation of WebSphere Virtual Enterprise, a script to create DefaultGridClassRules is ran. Since the operation applies to Compute Grid, however, Virtual Enterprise should not perform the operation. Previous problems did not exist with Virtual Enterprise since the creation depends on the existence of the WebSphere Application Server GridClassRules type. This type is introduced by the WebSphere Application Server Modern Batch Feature Pack. No errors occur when DefaultGridClassRules is created by Compute Grid since the script to create this object in Compute Grid has been modified, and is different than the script that is included in Virtual Enterprise. The action to create DefaultGridClassRules must be removed from Virtual Enterprise. LOCAL FIX: None PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: All users who are running WebSphere Virtual Enterprise Version 6.1.x with WebSphere Application Server Version 7.0.x and the Feature Pack for Modern Batch. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Errors occur when augmenting Virtual Enterprise with WebSphere Application Server and the Feature Pack for Modern Batch. RECOMMENDATION: Apply the interim fix that is associated with this APAR before augmenting Virtual Enterprise. During the augmentation of Virtual Enterprise, a configuration action, which should not be performed, is invoked. The WebSphere Application Server Version 7.0.x Feature Pack for Modern Batch creates a new type of WebSphere Application Server object and exposes this problem. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: This APAR removes the configuration action that should not be performed. This fix will be included in the next available fix pack for WebSphere Virtual Enterprise.
