Searching for associated tasks

You can select a task and search for all associated tasks, in your CICSplex.

About this task

If a task is not responding, for example, the task is suspended waiting for a write operation to a local file, you can perform a search to find all associated tasks in the CICSplex to see which one is causing the problem and take corrective action. An associated task is one that has the same NETUOWID or TRNGRPID. This example describes how to view associated tasks and identify the one in error.

Procedure

  1. Identify the suspended task using the Tasks view.
  2. Right-click the task and click Search > Associated Tasks.

Results

The results are displayed in the Search view. The view shows all associated tasks in a tabular format, including the starting task. The last task in the table is likely to be the one causing the problem. Review the task to determine the probable cause of the wait and take corrective action.
