This fix can be installed on IBM WebSphere Voice Server for Multiplatform Version 5.1.3.3 This update is for WebSphere Voice Server 5.1.3.3 (Windows) only. 2.0 WHAT IS NEW IN THIS Interim Fix The fix corrects an issue where WVS returns the IP address of the loopback device in the SETUP SDP, instead of the local IP address, in a Load Balancer environment. The server uses DNS to resolve the local IP address. In some network configurations the DNS search may return the address assigned to the loopback device instead of the local IP address. Therefore, WVS might return the IP of the loopback device in the response to the MRCP SETUP message, instead of the local IP. This fix adds an optional configuration for the IP address that WVS uses. If this configuration is set to a non-empty IP address, WVS uses it as its local IP address. Otherwise, the server uses DNS to resolve the local IP address. If you do encounter a wrong IP address sent by WVS in an LB environment, you can use the new configuration parameter to set the correct IP address. To set the new parameter, you need to add it to WVS configuration on each WVS in the cluster: • Add the parameter "com.ibm.voice.server.sesmgr.localIP" to the file cwv.properties located in \config (e.g., C:\Program Files\WebSphere\VoiceServer\config). • Set the parameter value to the local host IP. After the parameter has been added in cwv.properties, you can modify its value using a configuration script such as the putParam sample script. 3.0 INSTALLATION 3.1 Prerequisites o You must have Administrator access to update the IBM WebSphere Voice Server software. o It is assumed the IBM WebSphere Voice Server software is already installed. o WebSphere Application Server must be stopped prior to install ifix. 3.2 Installation Procedure This fix is delivered in this file: wvsapp.ear, ibmgram.dll; packaged in the ifix_IC63336.zip file. 1. Login to the WVS server system as the Administrator userid. 2. Create an ifix directory to contain the ifix_IC63336.zip file (e.g., C:\download\WVS\ifixIC63336). 3. cd to this ifix directory (e.g., cd C:\download\WVS\ifixIC63336). 4. Unzip the ifix_IC63336.zip file. 5. Ensure the WebSphere Application Server is stopped before proceeding. 6. Begin the ifix installation script using the command syntax: ifix_IC63336.bat -install 7. The ifix install script will start/stop WAS as required and provide status messages during installation. 8. Once the install completes without error, reboot the system. 9. Once the system is restarted, verify the WVS installation Verification test passes (available from the Firststeps application). 10. The ifix is now applied 4.0 UNINSTALLATION 1. Login to the WebSphere VoiceServer system as the Administrator userid. 2. cd "%WVS_ROOT%\ifix" directory. 3. Begin the uninstall of ifix IC63336 by invoking the ifix_IC63336.bat script with the syntax: ifix_IC63336.bat -uninstall 4. The ifix script will start/stop WAS as required and provide status messages during installation. 5. Once the uninstall completes without error, reboot the system. 6. Once the system is restarted, verify the WVS installation verification test passes (available from the firststeps application). 7. Given the WVS ivt has passed, now remove the %WVS_ROOT%\ifix\IC63336 directory via the command: rmdir /s "%WVS_ROOT%\ifix\IC63336" 8. Ifix is now removed. 5.0 NOTICES This information was developed for products and services offered in the United States.
