This fix can be installed on IBM WebSphere Premises Server version 6.1.0.1. 2.0 INCLUDED IN THIS INTERIM FIX -------------------------------- The following reported program defects are fixed in this update: o IC59670: Support for random EPC generation in Premises Server Feature Pack for Sensor Event Services 3.0 INSTALLATION ----------------- 3.1 Prerequisites o It is assumed that WebSphere Premises Server is already installed. o It is assumed that WebSphere Premises Server 6.1 Feature Pack for Sensor Event Services and the WebSphere Premises Server 6.1 Feature Pack for Sensor Event Services Toolkit are already installed. 3.2 Installation Procedure 1. Unpack the IC59670.zip file. 2. Apply this fix as described in the technote "Updating EAR files for WebSphere Premises Server" technote, available at: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=3467&uid=swg21326858 The IC59670.zip file contains the IBMPremisesRUCBackendImpl.ear file. When applying this fix in WebSphere Application Server, update the application "ibmruc_backendimpl_ear." 3. If using the WebSphere Premises Server 6.1 Feature Pack for Sensor Event Services Toolkit, copy files IBMPremisesRUCBackendImpl.ear to \iFeature in the workspace folder and follow the toolkit instructions to configure the server profile. 4. Required only when using InfoSphere Traceability Server (ITS) 2.0 to allocate EPCs: When allocating EPCs using the ITS 2.0 randomization algorithm, it is necessary to provide a setting to dictate the percentage of the numbering space that can be used for random EPC values. This setting is provided as a property on the EPCAgent, for SGTIN and SSCC tags respectively. Without these settings, the randomization space defaults to zero, and ITS will report errors when trying to generate a random EPC. a. Open the WebSphere Premises Server Administrative Console. b. Click Agent Configuration. c. Click EPCAgent. d. Click com.ibm.premises.reusable.epc.EPCAgent. e. Select Add Property. f. Enter the following information: i. Name: ruc.serialid.sgtin.randomizationSpace ii. Value: Enter a numeric value greater than 0 and less than or equal to 100 g. Select Add Property again. h. Enter the following information: i. Name: ruc.serialid.sscc.randomizationSpace ii. Value: Enter a numeric value greater than 0 and less than or equal to 100 i. Click Update PID. j. Click Update (click OK if a popup appears). k. Exit the WebSphere Premises Server Administrative Console. 5. Restart WebSphere Application Server 4.0 UNINSTALLATION ------------------- Refer to the "Updating EAR files for WebSphere Premises Server" technote, available at: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=3467&uid=swg21326858 5.0 TRADEMARKS ---------------- IBM and WebSphere are registered trademarks of International Business Machines Corporation in the United States, other countries, or both.
