Steps for installing the v6.0.0.1 Business Fabric Foundation Fix Pack

The following describes how to install the v6.0.0.1 Business Fabric Foundation Fix Pack.

  1. Backup and save your current configuration.
  2. Make sure that the WebSphere Process Server remains operative.
  3. Verify that the required disk space is available, as defined in the Space requirements section.

IMPORTANT: The WPS_HOME variable is not preset. You must know which directory you installed WPS in. We call that directory WPS_HOME.

Example: On a Linux installation, the WPS_HOME directory might be: /opt/IBM/WebSphere/ProcServer.  Within WPS_HOME you will find a /temp directory.

Note: The /temp directory contains all the Fabric EAR files.

  1. Unzip the Foundation Pack contents into WPS_HOME/temp.
  2. From the WPS_HOME/temp directory, issue the following command if installing to a Windows platform:

..\bin\wsadmin -f update_apps.jacl

The system prompts you for your username and password for both platform installations.

  1. Enter your WPS administrator username and password.

The update runs 5-10 minutes and displays informative logging as it proceeds.  Once the updated is complete, the following is displayed:

WebSphere Business Services Fabric 6.0.0.1 fix pack update complete.
  2. Log into http://<machine-name>:9080/fabric/app
  3. Verify that the version number at the bottom of the page is 6.0.0.1.

Validating your installation

Once you have completed and validated the installation, do the following:

1.      Log into the WPS Admin Console to verify that all Fabric applications are running.

2.      Log into http://<machine-name>:9080/fabric/app to verify that the version number in the page footer is v6.0.0.1.
