This maintenance update is Fix Pack 2, Interim Fix 1 for Tivoli OMEGAMON XE on z/OS V5.3.0. The following product application support files are included: 5.3.0.2-TIV-KM5-IF0001.zip (includes both Windows and Unix files) It includes fix pack feature support for the following APAR: OA49226 (PTF UA80033) Provides the corresponding application support jar files delivered via SMP/E. ----------------------- 1.1 Cross-Product compatibility ----------------------- - This Interim Fix requires IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) Version 6.3.0 Fix Pack 2 (6.3.0-TIV-ITM-FP0002) or higher; ITM V6.3.0 Fix Pack 6 or higher is recommended. - IBM Tivoli Monitoring version 6.3.0 can be obtained by ordering either 5724-C04 IBM Tivoli Monitoring through Passport Advantage or 5698-A79 IBM Tivoli Monitoring Services on z/OS through ShopzSeries. - You must upgrade your TEPS and Hub TEMS on a distributed platform to the required level of ITM maintenance prior to installing the OMEGAMON application support files with this image. - If you are using the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Browser Client or the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Java Webstart Client with IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) V6.3.0, you should review IBM Technote #1672459 and perform the recommended workarounds, which includes installing provisional maintenance. This fixpack can be applied directly to the base V5.3.0 product release or any previous fix pack or interim fix level. - This maintenance update includes a renewed Java certificate (Valid from: 8/2/15 7:00 PM until: 11/1/18 6:59 PM). If you have previously installed a language pack image, you must install the corresponding language pack image with the matching certificate. If you have not done so already, you are recommended to install Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server at IBM Tivoli Monitoring V6.3.0 Fixpack 6 or higher, which includes the matching Java certificate for this component. ----------------------- 2.2 Installation, migration, upgrade, and configuration notes ----------------------- If you are using the "Tivoli Enterprise Portal Desktop Client", you will need to install only desktop client component from the DVD wherever you have previously installed the "Tivoli Enterprise Portal Desktop Client". - If you are installing or upgrading IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON XE on z/OS V5.#.0 Support Files for z/OS from this image on a Windows platform, during the installation process when you are presented with the list to "Select the features setup will install", you should unselect the box labeled "Verify prerequisites". Verification of prerequisites is not applicable to this image, as this image only contains application support files. - If you are installing IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON Application Support Files for z/OS from this image on a Windows platform and you will be seeding a Tivoli Enterprise Management Server remotely (ie., on another platform), before you start the installation, copy file KDSTSNS.exe from directory \BIN\ to \CNPS\ . - If you are installing or upgrading IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON Application Support Files for z/OS from this image, you must select the appropriate option as indicated below when adding application support to the TEMS. - If you are using this DVD to add the application support files for products and this is the first time you have attempted installation of the application support files for this product or if you are using this DVD to update the application support files for products which were previously installed (upgrade): Select the "All" option which will add the default managed system groups to all applicable situations. "None" is the default. If you are installing application support to products to a TEMS running on Linux or UNIX, and you are using the command line interface, specify the "ALL" option: cd &installHome/bin ./itmcmd support -f upgrade -s ALL -t tems_name pc ... - The following message will appear during the installation of the application support from this image into a TEMS running on a Linux or UNIX platform: KCIIN2463W Warning: This installation media does not contain any components which can be run on the current system platform architecture. To install components which can run on this system, please locate the installation media containing files similar to **.jar. NOTE: IF YOU ARE INSTALLING APPLICATION SUPPORT, CONTINUE WITH THE INSTALLATION TO SEE A LIST OF SUPPORT FILES. This message can be ignored, as this image only contains application support files. Press enter to continue with the installation. - If you are using this DVD to update the application support files for products which were previously installed, you may receive the following warning message: WARNING - you are about to install the SAME version of product name V 5.3.0 fp:nn.nn Do you want to install the SAME version [ y or n; "n" is default ]? If you have previously installed one of the fix packs listed in section 3.0 SERVICE HISTORY, you should reply "y" to this message; otherwise, this message is an indication that you have already applied a fix pack which is at a later level of maintenance than is included on this DVD. - If you are upgrading IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON on z/OS V5.3.0 from V4.2.0 and you do not have OMEGAMON XE ON z/OS V4.2.0 interim fix 10 (4.2.0.1-TIV-KM5-IF0010) installed, after installing the application support files for OMEGAMON on z/OS V5.3.0 from this image or via the self describing agent feature, you must complete the following steps: - If you are upgrading application support to a TEPS running on Linux or UNIX: 1. Make a backup copy of km5.jar and tep.jnlp (refer to directory location in step 2&3). 2. Remove file km5.jar from //cw/km5.jar 3. Edit //cw/tep.jnlp and remove the line that references km5.jar. It will look something like this: "" 4. Recycle the TEPS. 5. Clear the java cache and java certificates on each TEP client where TEP Browser or Java Webstart will be used. - If you are upgrading application support to a TEPS running on Windows: 1. Make a backup copy of km5.jar and tep.jnlp (refer to directory location in step 2&3). 2. Remove file km5.jar from \CNB\classes\km5.jar 3. Edit \CNB\classes\tep.jnlp and remove the line that references km5.jar. It will look something like this: "" 4. Recycle the TEPS. 5. Clear the java cache and java certificates on each TEP client where TEP Browser or Java Webstart will be used. ----------------------- 2.3 Known limitations, problems, and workarounds ----------------------- - After installing application support from this image, if you observe unresolved strings from the TEP navigator view using the TEP browser client or TEP Java webstart client, refer to the "Master list of ITM TEP/Java issues" identified in IBM technote #1672459: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21672459 Confirm that you have installed workarounds for any unresolved Java issues. For example, Oracle Java 7u55 and IBM Java 7 SR7 introduced an issue where both the Java WebStart and browser client versions of the Tivoli Enterprise Portal client fail to start.
