Please consider the following before installing this interim fix:
Before installing the server interim fix on a Microsoft Windows system:
To install the interim fix, run Launcher.bat.
The interim fix installation program determines which Tivoli Security Information and Event Manager components are installed on the system and applies the necessary updates to those components.
Note: To uninstall the interim fix:
Before installing the actuator interim fix on a Microsoft Windows system:
To install the interim fix, run apply.bat.
Note: Uninstallation of actuator interim fix on Windows systems is not available. It is strongly recomended to backup the actuator installation folder before installation to accomodate IF revelsal.
To apply the interim fix for Tivoli Compliance Insight Manager Actuator for AIX, follow these steps:
# gzip -dc 2.0.0-TIV-TSIEM-ACT-AIX-IF001.tar.gz | tar xvf -
# sh apply.sh /opt/IBM/tsiem/actuator
# ps -ef | grep agent
Note: Uninstallation of actuator interim fix on AIX systems is not available. It is strongly recomended to backup the contents of /opt/IBM/tsiem/actuator before installation to accomodate IF revelsal.
To apply the interim fix for Tivoli Compliance Insight Manager Actuator for HP-UX, follow these steps:
# gzip -dc 2.0.0-TIV-TSIEM-ACT-HPUX-IF001.tar.gz | tar xvf -

# ps -ef | grep agent

After the interim fix has been installed, it is possible that TIP may reorganize the portlets on its sidebar.
As the result of reorganizing the portlets of the TIP menu items are being swapped. This can be reverted using a dedicated graphical tool shipped with TSIEM. It is available in TIP under Settings->Page Management menu item. This procedure can only be done using the TIPADMIN account.
TSIEM logs have to be viewed in UTF-8 encoding. Please note, that some native Windows tools (notepad.exe, wordpad.exe) do detect the encoding of the files they view. Alotugh some ciflog files are correctly recognized, the encoding deduction algorithm does not work correctly in all cases. The recommendation is to used UTF-8 enabled viewers to display the ciflog files.
If you install a Tivoli Security Information and Event Manager component to the system after the interim fix has been applied, you must reinstall the interim fix on that system, so that all components are at the same level.
In rare situations the SIM service doesn't kill the actuator.exe processes when stopped. This might cause the FP to fail the installation. As a workaround the procesess should be killed manually from the Task Manager and the FP\IF installation should be restarted.
