IBM 3592 60F DRIVE MICROCODE UPDATE README ------------------------------------------ The 3592 drive code levels in this directory contain Licensed Materials, (c) Copyright IBM Corp, 2003-2015 All rights reserved. Updating 3592 drive code on open systems platforms from a CD, typically requires administrative authority. Have the customer copy the files for you. The CD must be inserted into the CD drive on the server. Then, the CD file system must be mounted. If you are viewing this CD on a platform other than Windows or Linux, there are instructions in the Device Driver section of this CD, for that platform, which describe the steps required for mounting a CD and copying its contents. We have included here, an example for the AIX platform. o Create a file system: crfs -v cdrfs -p ro -d'cd0' -m/junk -A'no' o Mount the CD to the file system: mount -v'cdrfs' -r /dev/cd0 /junk o Go to the directory path where you want the code to be copied (the standard is /etc/microcode): cd /path o Copy the drive code: cp /junk/D3I4_60E.fmr ./ o Unmount the CD: umount /junk o Remove the file system: rmfs /junk To use this CD to update 3592 drive code on Hydra and CU attached drives, use the normal smit panel code update process and indicate using the CD drive.
