IBM Spectrum Scale for IBM Elastic Storage Server Version 5.2.0 for ppc64le Architecture Package Description - Datamanagement Edition IBM Elastic Storage Server (ESS) Datamanagement Edition ver 5.2.0 for ppc64le architecture is composed of various components tested together for compatibility and correctness. Key components are RHEL, IBM Spectrum Scale RAID V4.2.3-4, and Power System Firmware. 1.0 Summary of changes in ESS ver 5.2.0 for ppc64le a) ESS core - IBM Spectrum Scale V4.2.3 PTF4 - IBM Spectrum Scale RAID V4.2.3 PTF4 - Change from all previous versions of ESS b) Support of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 - Change from previous versions of ESS - See sections 4.4 for further details - kernel release 3.10.0-514.28.1.el7.ppc64le c) Support of MLNX_OFED_LINUX-4.1-1.0.2.3 - Change from ESS 5.1.x - Change from 4.x and earlier versions - No change of network adapter (IB and Ethernet) support from ESS 5.0 d) Support for 10GE Ethernet Adapter (Shiner-T) Copper - Same as ESS 5.1 e) Install Toolkit - Change from all previous versions of ESS See Quick Deployment Guide mentioned in section 5.0 for further details. f) Updated firmware rpm - Changes from all previous versions of ESS - Support for updated system, SAS RAID Internal Adapter and drive FW. g) Support of IBM Elastic Storage Server 5147 and 5148 - IBM Elastic Storage Server expansion model 084 (5147-084) - IBM Elastic Storage Server expansion model 024 (5147-024) - IBM Elastic Storage Server Management Server (5148-21L) - IBM Elastic Storage Server Data Server (5148-22L) 2.0 Information if upgrading from versions 3.5.5 and earlier, 4.0.x and 4.5 You must upgrade to ESS 4.5.2 or a later level to mitigate an issue which may damage an IBM Spectrum Scale RAID Recovery Group and associated Network Shared Disks where certain concurrent hardware faults along with back levels of firmware and the Linux kernel, may cause many physical disks to appear to be simultaneously unavailable. This in turn may lead an IBM Spectrum Scale RAID Recovery Group to become damaged, and the server to halt, leading to unavailability of the file system using the Network Shared Disks (NSDs) in that Recovery Group or possible data loss. 3.0 Known Issues List of known issues can be found in Elastic Storage Server: Quick Deployment Guide available in IBM Knowledge Center. http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSYSP8/sts_welcome.html 4.0 Following are the release level of various components of ESS ver 5.2.0 4.1 Manifest gss_install 5.2.0-20170826T202505Z_ppc64le_datamanagement gpfs.adv 4.2.3-4 md5:bf2721de79df48fb16eb1894ddf8a945 gpfs.base 4.2.3-4 md5:6fbd2edd3363e5f9a0f86d0ae221392d gpfs.callhome 4.2.3-4.000.el7 md5:7d18764e181711006e3a52c75e32980f gpfs.callhome-ecc-client 4.2.3-4.000 md5:dd4a5f620243384a4eb86f05561c6aa7 gpfs.crypto 4.2.3-4 md5:87c770339f31267efb403834c6904a1f gpfs.docs 4.2.3-4 md5:e2a13dd30c32850c77d9c302a4582d9d gpfs.ext 4.2.3-4 md5:0e5e611ca67f5a161f2bce317e2fae49 gpfs.gnr 4.2.3-4 md5:80d1229ab59b4b0aacf22a90dffb3010 gpfs.gnr.support-ibm2u24 1.0.0-0 md5:06938f85f46ac551fff246a684e16873 gpfs.gnr.support-ibm5u84 1.0.0-1 md5:67356c2b6605a3301b7a4b3c79b8535f gpfs.gpl 4.2.3-4 md5:7488db093d8782f012515d330864d3b4 gpfs.gskit 8.0.50-75 md5:c337669fa7252d3cc6d766220c3d49b6 gpfs.gss.firmware 4.2.0-8 md5:d8fa165c22b54b4d56665b5c8a6c4fa1 gpfs.gss.pmsensors 4.2.3-4.el7 md5:551249e70fb421173c5f6be42316d2b0 gpfs.java 4.2.3-4 md5:c92da99f3546ca15db04fcd474b635eb gpfs.license.dm 4.2.3-4 md5:4bb9cb392a6abd5d1a07d7a7978385a5 gpfs.msg.en_US 4.2.3-4 md5:8c9c6addda1db2addac1cd311e1f7aac esagent.pLinux 4.2.0-9 md5:3adb89f4a4edf5f8cfc2ffad0536dc83 gpfs.gss.tools 5.2.0-1.0.195.g33e7c01.el7 md5:b25db976d328e8d4b4e68d614909def7 gpfs.gss.xcat 5.2.0-1.0.195.g33e7c01.el7 md5:77e186a06002fbbe54d70a72bfd77d6b mofed 4.1-1.0.2.3 md5:26162e150b4ed523ddd735cbf86d47ac perl-xCAT 4:2.13.5-snap201706291141 md5:ac43a236052cfdfcfbb86f76da1c4e62 xCAT 2.13.5-snap201706291141 md5:706bd9fe06b47df8a064fdb4b7dfb5cb xCAT-buildkit 4:2.13.5-snap201706291141 md5:c4d77a898611a5871fa384cdec08a331 xCAT-client 4:2.13.5-snap201706291141 md5:220dd9bacc581a4c62f6bd35d96dcba6 xCAT-genesis-scripts-ppc64 1:2.13.5-snap201706291141 md5:8dbc117cde9efb6ff0fbec5d1424e1d3 xCAT-genesis-scripts-x86_64 1:2.13.5-snap201706291141 md5:761deedfc4744f647933101c1647e335 xCAT-probe 4:2.13.5-snap201706291141 md5:af8d72acac23a56e129e5a1b8b04ae70 xCAT-server 4:2.13.5-snap201706291141 md5:41aea3112be6a4a9fbd66474f96286de conserver-xcat 8.2.1-1 md5:619d08a8bd195db3eadd36115de643d3 elilo-xcat 3.14-4 md5:820e44cc9c1d5f6c58c38ffc6e6f0c4c grub2-xcat 2.02-0.16.el7.snap201506090204 md5:5bf0a98214ce4968cb78204490e0880b ipmitool-xcat 1.8.18-0 md5:de9221a182211ed4c399e7fb3f1343cf net-snmp-perl 1:5.7.2-20.ael7b md5:26572b232d1893db2f1622dee2b6ed11 perl-Crypt-CBC 2.33-2.el7 md5:47708f29c78536594d04216dc294ccc1 perl-Crypt-Rijndael 1.09-2.ael7a md5:209e3f1a49d90d496d900a18ddb7de9a perl-Expect 1.21-1 md5:d361407120d10082b61b73d8a46c900c perl-HTML-Form 6.03-6.el7 md5:86eee2ed8f7418053272e007edd61359 perl-HTTP-Async 0.30-2 md5:7d9a87bd8e181a2fa85c108cfbe0983d perl-IO-Stty 0.03-1 md5:e89b7cc768fa31b34d892ec4f5381b42 perl-IO-Tty 1.07-1 md5:6f76a27b13d626692fe7dcf0824d22fa perl-Net-HTTPS-NB 0.14-2 md5:dc14fb627abb83f71dd7f3e88a168152 perl-Net-Telnet 3.03-19.el7 md5:8174350e30f127292ad5f720a737be00 perl-SOAP-Lite 0.710.08-1 md5:2c09cf35829a955f6b7c49f980342179 syslinux-xcat 3.86-2 md5:bba2c71eac077b4a40f8813041a6fdcf xCAT-genesis-base-ppc64 2:2.13.2-snap201702150049 md5:39af923ac06f3512362467985c95416a xCAT-genesis-base-x86_64 2:2.13.2-snap201702200120 md5:47aa8b5b1d7fe95e9197442ec54a7f5b xnba-undi 1.0.3-131028 md5:0f407213b3e23aaf4b2c99221231512e gpfs.gss.pmcollector 4.2.3-4.el7 md5:e90b9ab6a38f729e49293c9e180793fd gpfs.gui 4.2.3-4 md5:c449d95898562f4bb4ba7959b45fd062 01SV860_109_056 1.1-1 md5:2a3efceda19b546da008215e0e5b139a 4.2 ESS ver 5.2.0 is shipped with OFED level MLNX_OFED_LINUX-4.1-1.0.2.3 (OFED-4.1-1.0.2.3) It is installed and upgraded as part of the ESS ver 5.2.0 solution.
