Direct connection between iSCSI HBA to iSCSI Host Port on the DS5020 are not supported. A 1Gbps network switch must be used between the iSCSI HBA and the DS5020 iSCSI Host Port for proper communication. 1.3 Enhancements ---------------- n/a ======================================================================= 1.4 Recommendations --------------------------------- We recommend that you have the latest level of iSCSI HBA firmware DS4000/ DS5000 has tested and supports when using it to attach and communicate to our DS5000 products that support iSCSI Host attachment. BIOS version 1.15 is currently what DS4000/DS5000 has tested and supports with these iSCSI HBAs. ======================================================================== 1.5 Prerequisites ------------------------------- Please refer to readme file in the Firmware and BIOS package of your iSCSI HBA for the information on how to update Firmware, BIOS and NVRAM settings of your iSCSI HBA. IMPORTANT: If you made modifications to iSCSI HBA NVRAM settings, you will have to make the modifications again because the NVRAM will be reset to the new IBM default values. Configuraton of you iSCSI HBAs should be done using the QLogic iSCSI SANsurfer Management Software, or the QLogic iSCSI SANsurfer Command Line Interface (CLI) utility. QLogic iSCSI SANsurfer version 5.02.12 and QLogic iSCSI SANsurfer CLI version 1.2.00.15 are the most recently tested and supported with DS4000/DS5000 product as of this release. This hot- fix will install the minimum required version of MS Storport device driver.
