IBM® Rational® Programming Patterns 9.7.3.1 iFix 2

Purpose

This Interim Fix applies to IBM® Rational® Programming Patterns 9.7.3.1. It contains modifications requested by users.

Installation instructions

This Interim Fix contains 2 .zip files for the client installation. These files correspond to 2 installation methods: with Installation Manager and with p2.

Rational Programming Patterns Client with IBM Installation Manager

1. Extract RPP9731_iFix002_Client_im.zip to a temporary directory.

For example, on Windows: c:\temp

2. Enter the RPP client repository in Installation Manager.

Start Installation Manager. Select File > Preferences. Add the repository.config file path to the Repositories list.

For example: c:\temp\RPP9731_iFix002_Client_im\repository.config

Click OK and go back to the Installation Manager main page.

3. Install the RPP client in Installation Manager.

· If the RPP client is already installed, click Update and choose the package to update.

· If the RPP client is not already installed, click Install.

Then, follow the installation instructions.

Rational Programming Patterns Client with p2

1. Download RPP9731_iFix002_Client_p2Repo.zip to a temporary directory.

For example, on Windows: c:\temp

2. Update the client in the Eclipse workspace.

1. Select Help > Install New Software.

2. Click Add to add the p2 repository.

3. In the Add a repository wizard that opens, click Archive. In the Location field, enter the path to the .zip file that contains the p2 repository.

4. In the next window, ensure that Group items by category is selected. Select Rational Programming Patterns 9.7.3.1 iFix 2. This category includes both RPP - Core features and RPP - EWM extension. You can clear EWM extension if you use another source control management tool.

5. Follow the instructions to proceed with the installation.

Rational Programming Patterns Server

The server is not provided in this iFix. It is recommended to use this Rational Programming Patterns Client iFix with the Rational Programming Patterns 9.7.3.1 server.

Associated level of Pacbase

The migration procedures are not provided in this iFix.

To work on the migration process from Pacbase to RPP, it is recommended to use the migration procedures package provided with RPP 9.7.1 iFix 4.
