Interim fix to resolve an issue where the IBM Spectrum Symphony host factory reserved counter is set higher than the available counter, when restarted, during its internal state initialization. This update also includes fix 602125 which resolved an issue with host factory cloud hosts not being returned or terminated, because the combination of the amount of data requested and frequency of requests exceed the levels allowed by the Spot service.

4.   Installation and configuration

Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix on hosts in your cluster.

System requirements

Linux x86_64

Prerequisites

Fix 601711 must be installed before applying this fix package.

Installation

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator and stop the HostFactory service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x password

> egosh service stop HostFactory

b.     Download the hfcore-1.2.0.0_x86_64_build602185.tar.gz package to each of your management host, for example, to a /symfixes directory.

c.     Run the egoinstallfixes command to install the hfcore-1.2.0.0_x86_64_build602185.tar.gz file on each of your management host:

> egoinstallfixes /symfixes/hfcore-1.2.0.0_x86_64_build602185.tar.gz

Important: Running the egoinstallfixes command automatically backs up the current binary files to a fix backup directory.  For recovery purposes of the original file, do not delete this backup directory. For more information on using this command, see the egoinstallfixes command reference.

d.     Run the pversions command to verify the installation:

> pversions -b 602185

e.    From the primary host, start the HostFactory service:

> egosh service start HostFactory

5.   Uninstallation

If required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix from hosts in your cluster.

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator and stop the HostFactory service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x password

> egosh service stop HostFactory

b.    Log on to each management host in the cluster and roll back this interim fix:

egoinstallfixes -r 602185

c.   From the primary host, start the HostFactory service:

> egosh service start HostFactory
