Description

Readme documentation for IBM Spectrum LSF 10.1 Fix 602140 including installation-related instructions, prerequisites and co-requisites, and list of fixes.

This fix addresses the following issue:

The PWM driver for LSF is out of date and cannot load when the Secure Boot feature is enabled on Windows.

5. Installation and configuration

Before you install

LSF_TOP is the full path to the top-level installation directory of LSF.

Before you apply this fix, ensure that you installed LSF 10.1 Fix Pack 12 or above. You can download LSF 10.1 Fix Pack 12 from https://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral. Search for build600488.

Installation steps

1.      Log on to the LSF management host as the LSF cluster primary administrator.

2.      Run badmin hclose all

3.      Run badmin qinact all

4.      Back up original files: copy pwm.* files from C:\LSF_10.1\10.1\etc\ to a backup directory.

5.      Decompress the fix by running tar -xf <patch>

6.      Copy all pwm.* files to C:\LSF_10.1\10.1\etc\

7.      Run following commands:

sc delete pwm

8.      Reboot the Windows host and run following commands:

sc create PWM type= "kernel" start= "auto" DisplayName= "LSF PWM" binpath= "C:\LSF_10.1\10.1\etc\pwm.sys"

sc start pwm

After you install

1.      Log on to the LSF management host as the LSF cluster primary administrator.

2.      Run lsadmin limrestart all

3.      Run lsadmin resrestart all

4.      Run badmin hrestart all

5.      Run badmin hopen all

6.      Run badmin qact all

Uninstallation

1.      Log on to the LSF management host as the LSF cluster primary administrator.

2.      Run badmin hclose all

3.      Run badmin qinact all

4.      Copy backed up pwm.* files from backup directory to C:\LSF_10.1\10.1\etc\

5.      Run following commands:

sc delete pwm

6.      Reboot the Windows host and run following commands:

sc create PWM type= "kernel" start= "auto" DisplayName= "LSF PWM" binpath= "C:\LSF_10.1\10.1\etc\pwm.sys"

sc start pwm

7.      Run lsadmin limrestart all

8.      Run lsadmin resrestart all

9.      Run badmin hrestart all

10.      Run badmin hopen all

11.   Run badmin qact all
