Interim fix to change some log messages from DEBUG to INFO level to help troubleshoot why the the HF_DB_HISTORY_DURATION parameter is retaining old dates in the host factory database.

4.   Installation and configuration

Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix on hosts in your cluster.

Prerequisites

Fix 601349 must be installed before applying this fix package.

System requirements

Windows 64-bit

Installation

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator and stop the HostFactory service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service stop HostFactory

b.   On each management host, download the sym-7.3.2.0-hfcore-1.2.0.0_build601704.msp package and complete one of the following steps:

  For an interactive installation, double-click the .msp packages and follow the prompts. 

  For a silent installation, enter the following command from the IBM Spectrum Symphony command prompt: 

C:\>msiexec /update C:\sym-7.3.2.0-hfcore-1.2.0.0_build601704.msp /l*v updateSym.log /norestart/quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus

The command syntax is as follows: 

C:\>msiexec /update sym_package_name_path /l*v sym_install_log /norestart/quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus

where: 

  sym_package_name_pathis the fully qualified file name to the .msp package. 

  sym_install_logis the log file for the interim fix.

c.     Run the pversions command to verify the installation:

> pversions

d.    From the primary host, start the HostFactory service:

> egosh service start HostFactory

5.   Uninstallation

If required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix from hosts in your cluster.

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator and stop the HostFactory service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service stop HostFactory

b.    Log on to each management host in the cluster and roll back to the previous version of IBM Spectrum Symphony, either from Windows Control Panel or from the IBM Spectrum Symphony command prompt: 

  To roll back from the Windows Control Panel, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates, click Update for Symphony 7.3.2.0 (build “601704”) and click Uninstall. 

  To roll back from the IBM Spectrum Symphony command prompt, enter the following commands: 

C:\>msiexec /uninstall {01851E92-F16F-4758-BD3D-A0BACAC3CC6E} /package {99DAD38B-C893-4CF5-ABCA-C970B8176C30} /norestart/quiet /l*v sym_rollback.log

The command syntax is as follows: 

C:\>msiexec /uninstallinterim_fix_code/packageproduct_code/norestart/quiet /l*vrollback_log

where: 

  interim_fix_code is the identifier of the .msp package for the interim fix; for example, {01851E92-F16F-4758-BD3D-A0BACAC3CC6E}. 

  product_code is the identifier of the .msi file in the original product installation package; for example, {99DAD38B-C893-4CF5-ABCA-C970B8176C30}. 

  rollback_log is the name of the log file to capture details of the rolled back interim fix; for example, sym_rollback.log.

c.   From the primary host, start the HostFactory service:

egosh service start HostFactory
