Download interim fix 601923 from the following location: https://www.ibm.com/eserver/support/fixes/.

4.    Installation and configuration

Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix on hosts in your cluster.

System requirements

Linux x86_64

Prerequisites

Fix 601711 must be installed before applying this fix package.

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator, disable all the applications, and stop the SD service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x password

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop SD

b.     On each management host, download the following packages, for example, to the /symfixes directory.

soamcore-7.3.2.0_x86_64_build601923.tar.gz

c.     Run the egoinstallfixes command to install the packages:

> egoinstallfixes /symfixes/soamcore-7.3.2.0_x86_64_build601923.tar.gz

Note: Running the egoinstallfixes command automatically backs up the current binary files to a fix backup directory for recovery purposes. Do not delete this backup directory; you will need it if you want to recover the original files. For more information on using this command, see the egoinstallfixes command reference.

 

d.     Run the pversions command to verify the installation:

> pversions -b 601923

e.     Update file $EGO_CONFDIR/../../eservice/esc/conf/services/sd.xml file, add the SSM_CHECK_SESSION_ID_FOR_SERVICE_ASSIGNMENT environment variable to enable this feature:

    <ego:ActivitySpecification>

      ......

      <ego:EnvironmentVariable name="SSM_CHECK_SESSION_ID_FOR_SERVICE_ASSIGNMENT">TRUE</ego:EnvironmentVariable>

      ......

    </ego:ActivitySpecification>

  </sc:ActivityDescription>

 

Note:

This configuration enables this feature on all applications. To enable this feature on a specific application, add this environment variable in that application’s profile.

 

With this feature enabled, you will see the following message in the SSM log:

2024-02-29 06:41:41.180 GMT INFO [14131:139947630700288] ssm.ssmcore.ARM - ARM::getEnvCheckSsnId get SSM_CHECK_SESSION_ID_FOR_SERVICE_ASSIGNMENT = true, the corresponding feature is enabled.

 

f.       Modify and start the SD service, and enable your applications:

> egosh service modify SD -f $EGO_CONFDIR/../../eservice/esc/conf/services/sd.xml

> egosh service start SD

> soamcontrol app enable application_name

5.    Uninstallation

If required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix from hosts in your cluster.

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator, disable all the applications, and stop the SD service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x password

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop SD

b.     On each management host, roll back this interim fix:

> egoinstallfixes -r 601923

c.     Remove the parameter in $EGO_CONFDIR/../../eservice/esc/conf/services/sd.xml, start the SD service, and enable your applications:

> egosh service modify SD -f $EGO_CONFDIR/../../eservice/esc/conf/services/sd.xml

> egosh service start SD

> soamcontrol app enable application_name
