4. Installation and configuration
Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix to your cluster.
System requirements
Linux x86_64
Installing on IBM Spectrum Symphony management hosts
a. Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator, stop the SYMREST service, and disable the SYMREST enabled applications:
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x
Admin
> egosh service stop SYMREST
> soamcontrol app disable application_name
b. Log on to each management host in the cluster (or just one host if you are using a shared file system), back up the following files for recovery purposes:
$EGO_TOP/soam/7.2/linux-x86_64/lib/libsoambase.so
$EGO_TOP/soam/7.2/linux-x86_64/lib64/libsoambase.so
c. On each management host, copy the sym-7.2.0.2_x86_64_build601505.tar.gz package and extract its contents to the $EGO_TOP installation directory:
> tar zxfo sym-7.2.0.2_x86_64_build601505.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP
d. Check the modified time of the following files to verify that this enhancement correctly installed:
$EGO_TOP/soam/7.2/linux-x86_64/lib/libsoambase.so
$EGO_TOP/soam/7.2/linux-x86_64/lib64/libsoambase.so
e. From the primary host, start the SYMREST
service and enable your applications:
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x
Admin
> egosh service start SYMREST
> soamcontrol app enable application_name
Installing on IBM Spectrum Symphony Developer Edition hosts
a.
Log on to
each IBM Spectrum Symphony Developer Edition host in your cluster, and disable
the SYMREST enabled applications :
>
soamcontrol app disable application_name
b.
On each
host, back up the following files for recovery purposes:
$SOAM_HOME/7.2/linux-x86_64/lib64/libsoambase.so
$SOAM_HOME/7.2/linux-x86_64/lib/libsoambase.so
c.
Download
the symde-7.2.0.2_x86_64_build601505.tar.gz package and decompress it to the $SOAM_HOME
directory:
>
tar zxfo symde-7.2.0.2_x86_64_build601505.tar.gz -C $SOAM_HOME
d.
Check the
modified time of the following files to verify that this fix was correctly installed:
$SOAM_HOME/7.2/linux-x86_64/lib64/libsoambase.so
$SOAM_HOME/7.2/linux-x86_64/lib/libsoambase.so
e.
Enable
your applications:
> soamcontrol app enable application_name
5. Uninstallation
If required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix from your cluster.
Uninstalling from IBM
Spectrum Symphony management hosts
a.
Log on to
the primary host as the cluster administrator, stop the SYMREST service, and
disable the SYMREST enabled applications:

Uninstalling from IBM Spectrum
Symphony Developer Edition hosts
a.
Log on to
each IBM Spectrum Symphony Developer Edition host in your cluster, and disable
the SYMREST enabled applications:
>
soamcontrol app disable application_name
b.
On each
host, restore the following files from your backup:
$SOAM_HOME/7.2/linux-x86_64/lib64/libsoambase.so
$SOAM_HOME/7.2/linux-x86_64/lib/libsoambase.so
c.
Enable
your applications:
> soamcontrol app enable application_name
