This interim fix resolves an issue for IBM Spectrum Symphony host factory, where the logon user does not have permission to complete the operation for the symA requestor. This fix also records a corresponding log message in the requestor log.

4.    Installation and configuration

Follow these instructions to download and install this interim fix on the management hosts in your cluster.

     System requirements

Linux x86_64

Installing

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator and stop the HostFactory service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x password

> egosh service stop HostFactory

b.     On each of management host, create a directory (for example, /symfixes) and download the egocore-4.0.0.0_x86_64_build601483.tar.gz, hfcore-1.2.0.0_x86_64_build601483.tar.gz, and soamcore-7.3.2.0_x86_64_build601483.tar.gz packages to the directory.

c.     Use the egoinstallfixes command to install the egocore-4.0.0.0_x86_64_build601483.tar.gz, hfcore-1.2.0.0_x86_64_build601483.tar.gz, and soamcore-7.3.2.0_x86_64_build601483.tar.gz packages:

> egoinstallfixes /symfixes/egocore-4.0.0.0_x86_64_build601483.tar.gz –silent

> egoinstallfixes /symfixes/hfcore-1.2.0.0_x86_64_build601483.tar.gz –silent

> egoinstallfixes /symfixes/soamcore-7.3.2.0_x86_64_build601483.tar.gz –silent

Important: Running the egoinstallfixes command automatically backs up the current binary files to a fix backup directory.  For recovery purposes of the original file, do not delete this backup directory. For more information on using this command, see the egoinstallfixes command reference.

d.     Use the pversions command to verify the installation:

> pversions -b 601483

e.     From the primary host, start the HostFactory service:

> egosh service start HostFactory

5.    Uninstallation

If required, follow these instructions to uninstall this interim fix from management hosts in your cluster.

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator and stop the HostFactory service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x password

> egosh service stop HostFactory

b.     Log on to each management host and roll back this interim fix:

> egoinstallfixes -r 601483

c.     From the primary host, start the HostFactory service:

> egosh service start HostFactory
