This
interim fix resolves an issue where IBM Spectrum Symphony is unable to get the
launch template, and shows the following error message
in the provider log file for Amazon Web Services (AWS):
Unable
to get the launch template {xxx}. The template does not exist; it may have been
removed. Check the AWS console for more details.

Component name, Platform, Fix ID:
Host factory, Linux

Follow these instructions to download and
install this interim fix on the hosts in your cluster.
System requirements
Linux x86_64
Installation
a. Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator and stop the
HostFactory service:
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x
Admin
> egosh service stop HostFactory
b. On each management host, create a directory (for example, /symfixes directory) and download the egocore-3.7.0_x86_64_build601371.tar.gz
file to
the directory.
c. Run the egoinstallfixes command to install the egocore-3.7.0_x86_64_build601371.tar.gz file:
> egoinstallfixes /symfixes/egocore-3.7.0_x86_64_build601371.tar.gz
Important:
Running the egoinstallfixes command automatically backs up the current binary files to a fix
backup directory. For recovery purposes of the original file, do not
delete this backup directory. For more information on using this command,
see the egoinstallfixes
command reference.
d. Back up the the original AWS SDK library
and remove it from the cluster:
>
mkdir -p /tmp/hfbackup_601371
>
mv $EGO_TOP/3.7/hostfactory/providers/aws/lib/aws-java-sdk-
1.11.470.jar
/tmp/hfbackup_601371
e. Run the pversions command to verify the installation:
> pversions -b 601371
f. From the primary host, start the HostFactory service:
> egosh service start HostFactory
If required, follow the instructions to
uninstall this interim fix from hosts in your cluster.
a. Log
on to the primary host as the cluster administrator and stop the HostFactory
service:
> egosh user logon
-u Admin -x Admin
>
egosh service stop HostFactory
b.
On each management host in the cluster, roll back this interim fix:
> egoinstallfixes -r 601371
c. On
each management host, restore the AWS SDK library that you backed up during
installation:
> cp /tmp/hfbackup_601371/aws-java-sdk-1.11.470.jar
$EGO_TOP/3.7/hostfactory/providers/aws/lib/aws-java-sdk-1.11.470.jar
d.
From the primary host, start the HostFactory service:
> egosh
service start HostFactory
3.7/hostfactory/providers/aws/lib/AwsTool.jar
3.7/hostfactory/providers/aws/lib/aws-java-sdk-1.12.277.jar
