This interim
fix resolves a VEMKD memory issue where VEMKD’s memory keeps increasing when
there are many hosts not in OK state in an IBM Spectrum Symphony 7.2.1 cluster.

instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix on hosts
in your cluster.
System requirements

Installation
a. Log on to each
management host as the cluster administrator and source your environment:
(BASH) . $EGO_TOP/profile.platform
(CSH) source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
b. Download the package to
each of your management hosts to, for example, to a /symfixes directory.
c. Run the egoinstallfixes command to install the egocore-3.7.0.0_x86_64_build601119.tar.gz file:
> egoinstallfixes
/symfixes/egocore-3.7.0.0_x86_64_build601119.tar.gz
Note: Running the egoinstallfixes command automatically backs up the current binary files to a fix
backup directory for recovery purposes. Do not delete this backup directory;
you will need it if you want to recover the original files. For more information on
using this command, see the egoinstallfixes
command reference.
d. Run the pversions command to verify the
installation:
> pversions -b 601119
e.
From the primary
host, restart the host:
> egosh ego restart
If
required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix
from hosts in your cluster.
a. Log on to each
management and compute host in the cluster and roll back this interim fix:
> egoinstallfixes -r
601119
b. From the primary host, restart the host:
> egosh ego restart
3.7/linux-x86_64/etc/vemkd
3.7/linux-x86_64/lib/policy/libslot.so
