Abstract

P104486. This fix adds the bkill -d option, which records the killed jobs as DONE after the job exits, and the bkill -stat option, which kills jobs with the specified status.

Description

Readme documentation for IBM® Spectrum LSF 10.1 Fix 600900 including installation-related instructions, prerequisites and co-requisites, and list of fixes.

This fix addresses the following issue:

This fix adds the following new options to the bkill command:

bkill -d: This new option kills the jobs as normal, then records the jobs as DONE after the jobs exit.

This option only takes effect for started jobs (RUN, USUSP, or SSUSP). If jobs are in another status, the -d option is ignored.

bkill -stat run|pend|susp: This new option kills jobs with the specified status

run: kills jobs in RUN, WAIT, or UNKWN status.

pend: kills jobs in PEND or PSUSP status.

susp: kills jobs in SSUSP or USUSP status.

The bkill -stat command option kills jobs with the specified status as soon as possible.

Local pending jobs are killed immediately and cleaned up as soon as possible, ignoring the time interval specified by the CLEAN_PERIOD parameter in the lsb.params file. Jobs that are killed in this manner are not logged to the lsb.acct file. Other jobs, such as running jobs, are killed as soon as possible and cleaned up normally.

The bkill -stat command option kills all applicable jobs and silently skips the jobs that cannot be killed.

When running the bkill -stat run command option, you do not need the job ID, nor do you need one of the -m, -u, -q, -J, -g, -sla, or-app options. The bkill -stat run kills all running jobs that you have the authority to kill.

The bkill -stat command option only works with three signals that are specified by the -s option: INT, KILL, or TERM.
