This interim fix resolves the issue when the soamdeploy command attempts to download a service package that is a lower version than the one in the repository service (RS) cache for IBM Spectrum Symphony 7.3.1.

4.    Installation and configuration

Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix on the hosts in your cluster.

System requirements

Linux x86_64

Installation

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator, disable all applications and stop the RS service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop RS

b.     Log on to each management host as the cluster administrator and source your environment:

(BASH) . $EGO_TOP/profile.platform

(CSH) source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

c.     Download the package to each of your management hosts to, for example, to a /symfixes directory.

d.     Run the egoinstallfixes command to install the egocore-3.9.0.0_x86_64_build600729.tar.gz file:

> egoinstallfixes /symfixes/egocore-3.9.0.0_x86_64_build600729.tar.gz

Note: Running the egoinstallfixes command automatically backs up the current binary files to a fix backup directory for recovery purposes. Do not delete this backup directory; you will need it if you want to recover the original files. For more information on using this command, see the egoinstallfixes command reference.

e.     From the primary host, start the RS service and enable your applications:

> egosh service start RS

> soamcontrol app enable application_name

5.    Uninstallation

If required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix from the hosts in your cluster.

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator, disable all applications and stop the RS service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop RS

b.     Log on to each management host in the cluster and roll back this interim fix:

> egoinstallfixes -r 600729

c.     From the primary host, start the RS service and enable your applications:

egosh service start RS

> soamcontrol app enable application_name
