This interim fix resolves a coredump issue for the application and the application service when SSL handshaking is unsuccessful between the SD and the SDK API in IBM Spectrum Symphony 7.2.1.

4.   Installation and configuration

Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix on hosts in your cluster.

System requirements

Linux x86_64

Installation

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator and disable all applications:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> soamcontrol app disable all

b.     Log on to each management and compute host as the cluster administrator and source your environment:

(BASH) . $EGO_TOP/profile.platform

(CSH) source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

c.     Download the soamcore-7.2.1.0_x86_64_build600175.tar.gz package to each of your management and compute hosts, for example, to a /symfixes directory.

d.     Run the egoinstallfixes command to install the soamcore-7.2.1_x86_64_build600175.tar.gz file:

> egoinstallfixes /symfixes/soamcore-7.2.1.0_x86_64_build600175.tar.gz

Important: Running the egoinstallfixes command automatically backs up the current binary files to a fix backup directory.  For recovery purposes of the original file, do not delete this backup directory. For more information on using this command, see the egoinstallfixes command reference.

e.     Run the pversions command to verify the installation:

> pversions -b 600175

   IBM Spectrum soamcore 7.2.1.0

   -----------------------------

   binary type: linux-x86_64, Feb 01 2021, Build 600175

   installed: Feb 02 2021

   notes:

   fixes: P104072

   files: /soam/7.2.1/linux-x86_64/lib64/libsoambase.so

f.       From the primary host, enable your applications:

> soamcontrol app enable appName

5.   Uninstallation

If required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix from hosts in your cluster.

a.     Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator and disable all applications:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> soamcontrol app disable all

b.    Log on to each management and compute host in the cluster and roll back this interim fix:

(BASH) . $EGO_TOP/profile.platform

(CSH) source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

> egoinstallfixes -r 600175

Note: You can specify the full path and file name instead of the build number, for example:

> egoinstallfixes -r /symfixes/soamcore-7.2.1.0_x86_64_build600175.tar.gz

c.     Enable the application:

> soamcontrol app enable appName
