Readme File for IBM® Spectrum Symphony RFE 142215

Readme file for: IBM Spectrum Symphony and IBM Spectrum Conductor

Product release: 7.3 and 2.4.1

Fix ID: sym-7.3-cws-2.4.1- build565338-jpmc

Publication date: November 30, 2020

Last modified date: November 30, 2020

This enhancement allows the egoinstallfixes command to remove obsolete files, when upgrading third party (non-IBM libraries), which normally requires adding new library versions and deleting the old library files. The command now detects the old files and cleans up the file system to remove them. Additionally, the command can now run pre-script.sh and post-script.sh files inside the fix package to be executed, to support customized operations with the egoinstallfixes command.

1.    Scope

Before you install this enhancement to your cluster, note the following requirements:

Operating systems

RHEL 6.x to 7.x 64-bit

IBM Spectrum Symphony 7.3 and IBM Spectrum Conductor 2.4.1

2.    Installation

Follow these instructions to download and install this enhancement on hosts in your cluster.

a.       Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

b.       Create a directory (for example, /symfixes) on each of your hosts and download the egocore-3.8.0.1_x86_64_build565338.tar.gz file to the directory:

c.       On each host, make a copy of existing egoinstallfixes and use it to install the package:

> cd $EGO_TOP/3.8

> cp -rf install install.bak

> cd install.bak

> ./egoinstallfixes /symfixes/egocore-3.8.0.1_x86_64_build565338.tar.gz
