This enhancement
provides two connection configuration attributes:
· PLATCOMMDRV_BACKLOG_SIZE_ON_LINUX in the sd.xml configuration file to allow you to configure the number of connection requests to be held in the backlog, for one SD (session director) service call and SSM (session management).
·
EGO_PLATCOMMDRV_BACKLOG_SIZE_ON_LINUX in the ego.conf configuration
file to allow you to configure the number of connection requests to be held in
the backlog for VEMKD.
Before you install this enhancement to your cluster, note the following requirements:

Follow these instructions to download
and install this enhancement on hosts in your cluster.
IBM
Spectrum Symphony 7.2.1 Advanced Edition must be installed on Linux hosts in
your cluster, and interim fix 563042 must installed in your cluster.
a. Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator, disable all applications, stop all services and shutdown your cluster:
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> soamcontrol app disable all -f
> egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown
b.
On each management host, create a
directory (for example, /symfixes) and download the soamcore-7.2.1.0_x86_64_build564819.tar.gz
and
egocore-3.7.0_x86_64_build564819.tar.gz files to the
directory.
c. Run the egoinstallfixes command to install the soamcore-7.2.1.0_x86_64_build564819.tar.gz and egocore-3.7.0_x86_64_build564819.tar.gz files:
> egoinstallfixes
/symfixes/soamcore-7.2.1.0_x86_64_build564819.tar.gz
>
egoinstallfixes /symfixes/egocore-3.7.0_x86_64_build564819.tar.gz
This enhancement provides a new attribute in the sd.xml file, called PLATCOMMDRV_BACKLOG_SIZE_ON_LINUX, which allows you to configure the number of connections that can remain in the backlog for the SD service and SSM.

Valid values: 1 to 36864
Default value: 1000
This enhancement also provides the attribute in the ego.conf file, called EGO_PLATCOMMDRV_BACKLOG_SIZE_ON_LINUX, which allows you to configure the number of connections that can remain in the backlog for the VEMKD.

a. On each management host, edit the $EGO_ESRVDIR/esc/conf/services/sd.xml file to add the PLATCOMMDRV_BACKLOG_SIZE_ON_LINUX configuration:

b. On each management host, edit the $EGO_CONFDIR/ego.conf file to add the parameter EGO_PLATCOMMDRV_BACKLOG_SIZE_ON_LINUX configuration:
EGO_PLATCOMMDRV_BACKLOG_SIZE_ON_LINUX=value
c. From the primary host, start the cluster and enable your applications:
> egosh ego
start
> soamcontrol
app enable appName
If required, uninstall this enhancement from management hosts in your cluster:
a. Log on to the primary host as the cluster administrator, disable all applications, stop all services and shutdown your cluster:
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> soamcontrol app disable all -f
> egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown
b. On each management host, roll back this enhancement:
> egoinstallfixes -r 564819
c. Edit the $EGO_ESRVDIR/esc/conf/services/sd.xml file and remove the PLATCOMMDRV_BACKLOG_SIZE_ON_LINUX configuration.
d. Edit the $EGO_CONFDIR/ego.conf file and remove the EGO_PLATCOMMDRV_BACKLOG_SIZE_ON_LINUX configuration.
e. From the primary host, start the cluster and enable your applications:
> egosh ego start

soamcontrol app enable appName
