Edit VMware Dynamic Scope Set
You can modify an existing VMware Dynamic Scope Set by adding the IP address or hostname of a VMware vCenter Server or VMware ESXi, importing a list consisting of the IP addresses and hostnames of one or more VMware vCenter Server or VMware ESXi instances, or editing an existing IP address, or deleting an IP address. You can also add credentials, edit existing credentials, or delete the credentials.
General pane
- Name
- Displays the name of the VMware Dynamic Scope Set.
VMware vCenter Server / ESXi pane
Displays a list of IP addresses of VMware vCenter Servers and ESXi instances associated with this VMware Dynamic Scope Set.
- Type
- Displays the type of the scope.
- Value
- Displays the IP address of a VMware vCenter Server or ESXi in the scope.
- Description
- Displays the description of the scope.
- Actions

to edit the IP address for a VMware vCenter Server or ESXi.
- Click
to delete the IP address. An IP address can only be deleted when more than one IP address is defined for this VMware vCenter Server or ESXi.
- Click
to start discovery for this VMware vCenter Server or ESXi along with the Linux and Windows virtual machines that it manages.
- Click
Click Import VMware vCenter Server / ESXi list to use a file to add the IP address or hostname of one or more VMware vCenter Server or ESXi instances.
VMware Credentials pane
- Name
- Displays the name of the VMware credential
- User Name
- Displays the user name to log in to the VMware vCenter Server or ESXi instance that you want to discover.
