Data Snapshot

Use the Data Snapshot page to generate and save a local copy of the raw, unformatted data that is collected without transmitting the data to IBM.

To generate and save the data snapshot, follow these steps:
  1. To save the results of the data collection on your system, click Download Last Data Snapshot and specify a location for the resultant file (collection.tar.xz). For extracting the contents of the .tar.xz archive, use either the tar utility (for Linux) or the 7-Zip utility (available both for Linux and Windows).

Depending on the amount of data, the download operation might take some time.

Note: If a transmission job or another data snapshot service is in progress then you will get a message - A collection job is currently running. The latest data snapshot was generated on <<timestamp>>. Are you sure you want to download the collection?. Click OK to proceed with the download.
  2. Click Generate Data Snapshot Now to initiate the data collection without transmitting to IBM. Check the Summary > Job Summary page (click Summary in the navigation pane) or check the Activity Log (click Activity Log in the navigation pane) to view the status.
