Here are the installation instructions for applying the Connect:Direct  
i5/OS 3.8.00 maintenance from the web page.   Please note that CAPITAL letters
should be typed exactly as they appear. Lower cased words should be replaced 
with the corresponding values appropriate for your system. Please see the 
Connect:Direct i5/OS Installation Guide, section "Installing 
Connect:Direct i5/OS" for further explanations of the following variables.

1. A compressed xxx.zip file will be copied to your PC.

2. Unzip the xxx.zip file to expand it. The expanded file will have an extension of 
  xxx.savf .

3. Start the FTP client software on your PC and Connect to the iSeries.

password
quote site nam 1
bin
cd /qsys.lib/qgpl.lib (or library of your choice)
put <pathname>xxx.savf
quit

- The above script creates the SAVF QGPL/xxx
    -- you don't need to pre-create the SAVF, because of the .savf extension
       in path name format

4. Sign on with the Connect:Direct Administrator profile used previously to 
initially install Connect:Direct i5/OS.

5. End Connect:Direct (if active) by entering the following command:
  ENDCD  [wait for C:D jobs to end before continuing.]

6. Delete any existing objects named UPDATECD in Connect:Direct Library.
  WRKOBJ UPDATECD   <option 4 to delete>
	
7. Restore the installation program into library QTEMP by entering the command:
  RSTOBJ OBJ(UPDATECD) SAVLIB(MAINT38) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(lib/savefile) 
  OBJTYPE(*ALL) RSTLIB(QTEMP) ALWOBJDIF(*ALL) MBROPT(*ALL)

8. Change your library list
  CHGLIBL LIBL(QTEMP QGPL cdlib) CURLIB(QGPL)

9. Run the Connect:Direct maintenance update program by typing UPDATECD and 
pressing a command-4 to prompt it.

10. On the installation panel, enter the prompted values and press enter. (Do not use QTEMP as the Backup Copy Library.)

11. The issues addressed by this Cumulative are in a file named CUM_PI_LST. This 
file should be located in the production library (cdlib) after the completion of 
UPDATECD command.

12. Change the library list back.
   CHGLIBL LIBL(cdlib QTEMP QGPL) CURLIB(cdlib)

13. Start Connect:Direct by entering the following command:
  STRCD 

14. Sign off and sign on with your normal user profile.

15. Once the Connect:Direct i5/OS functionality has been verified to your 
satisfaction, you may delete the obsolete objects in the Backup Copy Library.
