Readme File for IBM® Spectrum Symphony 7.3.0.0 Interim Fix 536337
Readme File for: IBM Spectrum Symphony
Product Release: 7.3.0.0
Update Name: Interim Fix 536337
Fix ID: sym-7.3-build536337
Publication Date: February 19, 2020
IBM Spectrum Conductor 2.4.1 includes an upgraded version of Elasticsearch. IBM Spectrum Symphony Advanced Edition for Linux uses Elasticsearch for Explorer reports. For a cluster with both IBM Spectrum Symphony 7.3.0 and IBM Spectrum Conductor 2.4.1, you must apply this fix on top of IBM Spectrum Symphony 7.3.0 so that Explorer reports within the cluster work with the upgraded Elasticsearch.

ELK, Linux x86_64, sym-7.3-build536337
4. Installation and configuration
Follow these instructions to download and install this interim fix.
Note: If
you are performing a rolling upgrade so that your cluster is at the latest
product level, in order to use your existing Explorer dashboard with your
Charge Back chart, ensure that you apply this interim fix before you run the egoupgrade cluster
command; otherwise, you must create a new dashboard manually after upgrading.
Prerequisites
Your Linux host must include the “ed” Linux line-oriented text editor.
System requirements
Linux x86_64
Installation
a. On each management host, perform these steps:
1.
Log on as the cluster
administrator and source the profile.platform file:
> source profile.platform
> egosh user logon –u Admin –x Admin
2. Download the soammgmt-7.3.0.0_noarch_build536337.tar.gz package to a directory for this fix (for example, to a /symfixes directory).
3.
Run the egoinstallfixes command to install
the soammgmt-7.3.0.0_noarch_build536337.tar.gz package:
> egoinstallfixes /symfixes/soammgmt-7.3.0.0_noarch_build536337.tar.gz
4. Run the pversions command to verify the installation:
> pversions -b 536337
IBM Spectrum soammgmt 7.3.0.0

/integration/elk/init/document/model/dashboards/sym_charge_back.json
/integration/elk/upgrade/script/Symphony_export_ChargeBack.sh
/integration/elk/upgrade/script/Symphony_import_ChargeBack.sh
Note: If your cluster uses a shared directory, ensure that you also copy the .json files above to that shared directory.
b. (Optional)
If you are performing a rolling upgrade to IBM Spectrum Conductor 2.4.1
(according to the steps in https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSZU2E_2.4.1/upgrade_sym/rolling_upgrade_task_overview.html),
and you have used Elasticsearch data with your previous IBM Spectrum
Symphony 7.3 cluster, to migrate that data, use the provided import and export
scripts by copying the scripts into the Elasticsearch directory before starting
the new cluster.
Here are guidelines on using the scripts in conjunction
with your rolling upgrade process:
1. On one of the management hosts, log on as the cluster administrator and copy the /integration/elk/upgrade/script/Symphony_export_ChargeBack.sh script into the /integration/elk/1.4.2/scripts/directory and set the executable permission for this script.
2. Before you run the egoupgrade cluster command for a rolling upgrade, run the Symphony_export_ChargeBack.sh script, using this syntax:
./Symphony_export_ChargeBack.sh Admin
Admin export_directory
where export_directory
is the directory where you want the script to export the data. The script
creates an ibm-symphony-report-charge-back
directory under this export directory. If not specified, script exports to the current_directory/ibm-symphony-report-charge-back
directory.
3. Run egoupgrade cluster as per your rolling upgrade instructions.
4. Copy the /integration/elk/upgrade/script/Symphony_import_ChargeBack.sh
script into the /integration/elk/1.4.3/scripts/directory and set the executable permission for this script.
5. After you have run the egoupgrade cluster command, run the Symphony_import_ChargeBack.sh script, using this syntax:
./Symphony_import_ChargeBack.sh
Admin Admin export_directory
where export_directory
is the directory where you exported the data from the previous version. The
script takes the JSON file containing the exported information from the current_directory/ibm-symphony-report-charge-back
directory and imports that information into Explorer reports for your upgraded
cluster.
c.
Restart
ELK and Explorer services:
1.
Log on to any one of the
management hosts as the cluster administrator and source the profile.platform file:
> source profile.platform
> egosh user logon –u Admin –x Admin
2. Restart the services:
>
egosh service stop Explorer elk-manager elk-elasticsearch-data
elk-elasticsearch-master elk-elasticsearch
>
egosh service start Explorer elk-manager elk-elasticsearch-data
elk-elasticsearch-master elk-elasticsearch
5. Uninstallation
If
required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix
in your cluster.
a.
Log
on to the host of this fix installed in the cluster as the cluster administrator
and stop ELK and Explorer services:
>
egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> egosh service
stop Explorer elk-manager elk-elasticsearch-data elk-elasticsearch-master
elk-elasticsearch
b.
On
each management host with the fix installed:
1.
Log on as the cluster administrator and source the profile.platform file:
> source profile.platform
> egosh user logon –u Admin –x Admin
2. Roll back this
interim fix with the build number:
> egoinstallfixes -r 536337
c. Restart ELK
and Explorer services:
> egosh service
stop Explorer elk-manager elk-elasticsearch-data elk-elasticsearch-master
elk-elasticsearch
> egosh service start Explorer elk-manager elk-elasticsearch-data
elk-elasticsearch-master elk-elasticsearch
