4.    Installation and configuration

Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix to your cluster.

System requirements

Linux x86_64

Installation

a.     Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and stop the MRSS service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service stop MRSS

b.     On each management and compute host, back up the following file for recovery purposes:

$EGO_TOP/soam/mapreduce/7.1.2/linux-x86_64/etc/mrss

c.     On each management and compute host, download the sym-7.1.2_x86_64_build539295.tar.gz file and extract its contents to the top-level installation directory, for example:

> tar zxfo sym-7.1.2_x86_64_build539295.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP/

d.     From the master host, start the MRSS service:

> egosh service start MRSS

5.    Uninstallation

If required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix from your cluster.

a.     Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and stop the MRSS service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service stop MRSS

b.     On each management and compute host, restore your backup for the following file:

$EGO_TOP/soam/mapreduce/7.1.2/linux-x86_64/etc/mrss

c.     From the master host, start the MRSS service:

> egosh service start MRSS
