When the VEMKD restarts repeatedly because of environment issues (for example, because the disk space is full), the EGOSC hangs while trying to resolve the percentage maximum/minimum instance configuration for each service. The EGOSC log also contains lines similar to the following:

4.    Installation and configuration

Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix on the Linux master in your cluster.

System requirements

Linux x86_64, Linux ppc64le

Installation

a.      Log on to the master host as CLUSTERADMIN.

b.      Source your environment:

(BASH) . $EGO_TOP/profile.platform

(CSH) source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

c.      Shut down EGO:

$ egosh ego shutdown

d.      On each of your management hosts (or just one host if you are using a shared file system), download the package for your host operating system to, for example, the /conductorfixes directory:

·        egocore-3.8.0_x86_64_build531176.tar.gz for Linux hosts

·        egocore-3.8.0_ppc64le_build531176.tar.gz for Linux for POWER hosts

e.      Use the egoinstallfixes command to install the package:

·        On Linux hosts:

$ egoinstallfixes /conductorfixes/egocore-3.8.0_x86_64_build531176.tar.gz

·        On Linux for POWER hosts:

$ egoinstallfixes /conductorfixes/egocore-3.8.0_ppc64le_build531176.tar.gz

NOTE: The egoinstallfixes command automatically backs up the current binary files to a fix backup directory for recovery purposes. Do not delete this backup directory; you will need it if you want to recover the original files. For more information on using this command, see the egoinstallfixes command reference.

f.       Run the pversions command to verify the installation:

$ pversions -b 531176

g.      From the master host, start EGO:

$ egosh ego start

h.      Run the egosc -V command to confirm the update was successfully installed, for example:

·        On Linux hosts: 

       $ egosc -V

   EGO 3.8.0 build 531176, Oct 1 2019

    binary type: linux-x86_64

·        On Linux for POWER hosts:

      $ egosc -V

   EGO 3.8.0 build 531176, Oct 1 2019

    binary type: linux3.10-glibc2.17-ppc64le

5.    Uninstallation

If required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix on hosts in your cluster.

a.      Log on to the master host as CLUSTERADMIN.

b.      Source your environment:

(BASH) . $EGO_TOP/profile.platform

(CSH) source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

c.      Shut down EGO:

$ egosh ego shutdown

d.      Log on to each management host (or just one host if you are using a shared file system) and roll back this interim fix:

$ egoinstallfixes -r 531176

e.      From the master host, start EGO:

$ egosh ego start
