Readme File for IBM® Spectrum Symphony 7.2.1 Interim Fix 526730

Readme File for: IBM Spectrum Symphony

Product Release: 7.2.1

Update Name: Interim Fix 526730

Fix ID: sym-7.2.1-build526730

Publication Date: August 08, 2019

The IBM Spectrum Symphony host factory feature identifies Amazon EC2 instances based on host name. However, using host name alone to identify instances can result in the termination of EC2 instances that were not provisioned by the HostFactory service when Amazon Web Services (AWS) reassigned the host name to newer EC2 instances.

This interim fix resolves this issue by using the AWS Instance ID in addition to the host name for identifying EC2 instances.
