This readme document contains information about installation and removal of the interim fix and about problems, restrictions, and solutions in support of IBM Content Navigator, Version 2.0.3.8.

You might see security warnings and update requests when using certain versions of Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

For security reasons, you might want to prevent users from opening or previewing certain types of documents, such as HTML documents, by setting the No viewer option. When this option is set and users attempt to preview or open a document of the file type you specified, they will receive a message informing them that the document cannot be opened, it can only be downloaded.
Content Platform Engine Version 5.5.2 removed the DatabaseType property. As a result, IBM CMIS for FileNet Content Manager Version 2.0.3 Fix Pack 8 Interim Fix 21 has been updated to ignore reading this property. Therefore IBM CMIS for FileNet Content Manager Version 2.0.3 Fix Pack 8 Interim Fix 21 is the minimum supported version for Content Platform Engine Version 5.5.2. Previous interim fixes of IBM CMIS Version 2.0.3 Fix Pack 8 connecting to Content Platform Engine Version 5.5.2 will receive the following error: FNRCA0024E: API_PROPERTY_NOT_IN_CACHE: The DatabaseType property was not found in the properties collection

When you install a interim fix, you can run the installation wizard or run a silent installation. The interim fix can be installed as an update to IBM Content Navigator, Version 2.0.3.8 or later.
If you do not have IBM Content Navigator installed and configured, you must install and configure Version 2.0.3.8 first and then install the interim fix.
The interim fix installation program updates the files in the directory where IBM Content Navigator is installed. After the installation program completes successfully, restart the web application server and redeploy the IBM Content Navigator web application to apply the changes from the interim fix.

When you uninstall the interim fix, you also uninstall IBM Content Navigator.

CVE-2016-5007 is tied to spring-webmvc-4.1.8.jar (Spring MVC Framework) file which is bundled with IBM CMIS for FileNet Content Manager and IBM Content Manager. Even though this jar is not used in the product and therefore does not have any impact, this vulnerability was addressed further by removing this jar. |
