When the “egosh service config -s <service_name> -M <maxInstance>” command is used to reduce the “MaxInstances” configured in the service profile, service instances are reclaimed. Under select conditions, VEMKD core dumps can occur at this time. This interim fix resolves this issue.

Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix in your cluster.

Installation
a. Log on to each management host in the cluster and back up the following file, which will be replaced by this fix:
$EGO_TOP/3.6/linux-x86_64/etc/egosc
b. Stop all services and shut down your cluster:
> egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown
c. On each management host, download the sym-7.2.0.2_x86_64_build516060.tar.gz package and extract its contents to the $EGO_TOP installation directory:
> tar zxfo sym-7.2.0.2_x86_64_build516060.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP
d. Verify the installation with the “egosc -V” command, for example:
> egosc -V
EGO 3.6.0 build 516060, Mar 22 2019

e. Start the cluster:
> egosh ego start
5. Uninstallation
If required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix in your cluster.
a. Log on to each management host in the cluster, stop services, and shut down the cluster:
> egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown
b. On every management host, restore your backup for the following file:
$EGO_TOP/3.6/linux-x86_64/etc/egosc
c. Start the cluster:
> egosh ego restart
