When an SI exits abnormally in IBM Spectrum Symphony 7.2.0.2, the SIM logs show incorrect cgroup limits for virtual memory and physical memory in the error message. This interim fix provides a resolution for this issue.

4. Installation and configuration

Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix in your cluster.

System requirements

Linux x86_64

Installation

a. Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and disable all applications:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> soamcontrol app disable all

b. Log on to each compute host in the cluster and back up the following file, which will be replaced by this interim fix:

$EGO_TOP/soam/7.2/linux-x86_64/etc/sim

c. On each compute host, copy the sym-7.2.0.2_x86_64_build513663.tar.gz package and extract its contents to the $EGO_TOP installation directory:

> tar zxfo sym-7.2.0.2_x86_64_build513663.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP

d. Run the sim -V command to verify the installation, for example:

> sim -V

e. From the master host, enable your applications:

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>

5. Uninstallation

If required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix in your cluster.

a. Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and disable all applications:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> soamcontrol app disable all

b. Log on to each compute host and restore your backup for the following file:

$EGO_TOP/soam/7.2/linux-x86_64/etc/sim

c. From the master host, enable your applications:

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>
