Reclaimed slots in Platform Symphony 7.1.1 cannot be released if the corresponding SIM exits before reclaim is complete. Under race conditions, this behavior causes some sessions to not get available slots and consequently hang. This interim fix provides a resolution for this issue.

4.  Installation and configuration

Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix in your cluster.

System requirements

Linux x86_64

Installation

a.       Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and disable all applications:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> soamcontrol app disable all

b.       Log on to each management host in the cluster and back up the following file, which will be replaced by this interim fix:

$EGO_TOP/soam/7.1.1/linux-x86_64/etc/ssm

c.        On each management host, download the pssasetup2015_linux-x86_64_build511540.tar.gz package and extract its contents to the Platform Symphony installation directory:

> tar zxfo pssasetup2015_linux-x86_64_build511540.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP

d.       Run the ssm -V command to verify the installation, for example:

> ssm -V

e.       From the master host, enable your applications:

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>

5.  Uninstallation

If required, follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix in your cluster.

a.       Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and disable all applications:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> soamcontrol app disable all

b.       Log on to each management host in the cluster and restore the following file from your backup:

$EGO_TOP/soam/7.1.1/linux-x86_64/etc/ssm

c.        From the master host, enable your applications:

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>
