1.    What’s New

LSF Suite 10.2 Fix Pack 7 contains the following components:

For Workgroup Edition:

·         LSF 10.1 Fix Pack 7

·         LSF Application Center 10.2 Fix Pack 7

·         LSF Explorer 10.2 Fix Pack 7

·         PMPI 9.1.4 (x86 only) (same as in Suite 10.2)

·         SMPI 10.1.1  (x86 only)(same as in Suite 10.2)

·         SMPI 10.2 Fix Pack 10 (Power only)

For HPC Edition:

·         LSF 10.1 Fix Pack 7

·         LSF Application Center 10.2 Fix Pack 7

·         LSF Explorer 10.2 Fix Pack 7

The following enhancements have been made to the installation and life-cycle management functions of IBM Spectrum LSF Suite 10.2 Fix Pack 7:

• Support Variable Use Licensing Option:

o   This solution lets a client optimize their cloud-based HPC use by matching cloud use models with cost effective, pay-as-you-go licensing.

• Correction to the license terms:

o    RVU->UVU for concurrent users and can control additional web session login by different users based on the set user limits.  This is based on # of concurrent users including # of concurrent user in LSF cluster.

o    Corrected the Usage Statistics page and the Resource Dashboard to show the correct value of distinct login concurrent users.

5.    System requirements 

a.  On IBM Power hosts:

         i.  RHEL 7.3 LE 

       ii.  Ubuntu 16.04, 18.04 (Power)

      iii.  RHEL 7.4,7.5 LE (for IBM Power 9)

b.  On 64-bit x86 hosts:

         i.  RHEL 7.2 and up

       ii.  CentOS 7.3

      iii.  Microsoft Windows (LSF execution hosts only).    RPM installation packages are not provided for Microsoft Windows. You must use the native installers to install the LSF execution hosts.

c.  On ARMv8 hosts (for LSF execution hosts only):

RPM installation packages are not provided for ARMv8 hosts.  You must use the native installers to install the LSF execution hosts.

6.    Installation 

a.  Download the LSF Suite installer (.bin file) from Fix Central

b.  Run the downloaded LSF Suite installer (.bin file).

c.  Deploy the updated LSF Suite installation by running the following command:
       ansible-playbook -i lsf-inventory lsf-upgrade.yml
