In IBM Spectrum
Symphony multicluster 7.2.1, the “smcadmin user logon” command does not request user name and password
input, but directly fails the authentication. This interim fix proves a resolution for this
issue.

Follow
the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix in
your cluster.
System requirements
Linux x86_64
Installation
a.
Log on to each host in your multicluster and back up the following file:
$EGO_TOP/smc/7.2.1/linux-x86_64/bin/smcadmin
b. Copy
the symmc-7.2.1.0_x86_64_build505705.tar.gz package to each
host and decompress the file to the installation directory:
> tar zxfo symmc-7.2.1.0_x86_64_build505705.tar.gz
-C $EGO_TOP
c. Verify
the installation by running the “smcadmin -V”
command; for example:
> smcadmin -V
IBM Spectrum Symphony 7.2.1 build 505705, Nov 1 2018
5. Uninstallation
If required to uninstall this interim fix from your cluster, log on to each
host in the multicluster and restore the following
file from your backup:
$EGO_TOP/smc/7.2.1/linux-x86_64/bin/smcadmin
