IBM Spectrum LSF 10.1 Fix 504521 Readme File

Abstract

P102762. Fix to resolve a file descriptor leak problem in Docker driver jobs in the sbatchd daemon and enable all non-Docker group users to submit LSF docker driver jobs.

Description

Readme documentation for IBM Spectrum LSF 10.1 Fix 504521 including installation-related instructions, prerequisites and co-requisites, and list of fixes.

This fix addresses the following issues:

The sbatchd daemon does not close the file descriptors to the /tmp/.sbd...db file, which belongs to the Docker job. This causes a file descriptor leak and might cause future Docker jobs to fail with too many open files in the sbatchd daemon. This fix prevents these problems by preventing file descriptor leaks in sbatchd for Docker driver jobs.

LSF supports using the user account that is configured in the Docker application profile to execute Docker jobs even if the submission user is not a Docker group member on the execution host. This fix resolves issues with the supplementary user groups to allow all non-Docker group users to submit and execute Docker driver jobs.
