IBM Spectrum LSF 10.1 Fix 500821 Readme File

Abstract

This solution includes the following enhancements:

1. Allows the bsla command to display guarantee used hosts for every guarantee SLA.

2. Ensures that users can set up individual administrators for each GuaranteedResourcePool in the lsb.resources file. Such GuaranteedResourcePool administrators can only manage the corresponding resource pool by running the bconf command.

3. Allows users to add a kill reason when killing a job or job array.

Description

Readme documentation for IBM Spectrum LSF 10.1 Fix 500821 including installation-related instructions, prerequisites and co-requisites, and list of fixes.

This solution includes the following enhancements:

1. Users can query the guarantee used hosts for every guarantee SLA by running the bsla command.

This enhancement introduces the new parameter LSB_GSLA_DISPLAY_ALLOC_HOSTS in the lsf.conf file to enable LSF to decide whether or not display the guarantee used hosts.

   LSB_GSLA_DISPLAY_ALLOC_HOSTS

   Syntax

           LSB_GSLA_DISPLAY_ALLOC_HOSTS=Y | y

   Description

If this parameter is enabled, the bsla command displays any guarantee used hosts from all guarantee pools for the guarantee SLA.

The lsb_serviceClassInfo API also gets any guarantee used hosts from all guarantee pools for the guarantee SLA.

If this parameter is not defined or its value is invalid, the bsla command does not display the guarantee used hosts for the guarantee SLA.

   Default

           Not defined.

2. A new parameter ADMINISTRATORS in GuaranteedResourcePool in the lsb.resources file allows the administrator can manage the corresponding GuaranteedResourcePool by bconf command.

3. A new option "-C" in the bkill command allows users to add a reason when killing a job or job array. The kill reason is shown in the bjobs -l, bhist -l, and bjobs -o "kill_reason" commands.
