If a short consumer name is configured in the application profile, the active session manager (SSM) for this application is killed and restarted when the service director (SD) is restarted. This interim fix provides a resolution for this issue.

4.  Installation and configuration

Follow the instructions in this section to download and install this interim fix in your cluster.

System requirements

Linux x86_64

Installation

1.      Log on to the master host in the cluster as the cluster administrator and stop the SD service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service stop SD

2.      Log on to management hosts in the cluster and back up the following file to another directory:

$EGO_TOP/soam/7.2.0.2/linux-x86_64/etc/sd

3.      On each management host, copy the sym-7.2.0.2_x86_64_build499150.tar.gz package and decompress it to the $EGO_TOP installation directory:

> tar zxfo sym-7.2.0.2_x86_64_build499150.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP

4.      Run the “sd -V” command to verify the installation, for example:

> sd -V

IBM Spectrum Symphony 7.2 build 499150, Aug 9 2018

5.      From the master host, start the SD service:

> egosh service start SD

5.  Uninstallation

Follow the instructions in this section to uninstall this interim fix in your cluster, if required.

1.      Log on to the master host in the cluster as the cluster administrator and stop the SD service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service stop SD

2.      Log on to management hosts in the cluster and restore the following file from your backup:

$EGO_TOP/soam/7.2.0.2/linux-x86_64/etc/sd

3.      From the master host, start the SD service:

> egosh service start SD
