You must have IBM Daeja ViewONE, Version 5.0.3 installed.
Before you install IBM Daeja ViewONE, Version 5.0.3 iFix 8:
IBM Daeja ViewONE, 5.0.3 iFix 8 is provided as a compressed file containing the files that are needed to update Version 5.0.3 for all supported platforms.
To install this package:
As this package contains all the files required for all platforms, you can remove the files that are included for platforms that are not relevant to your environment. Change to the server/WEB-INF/lib directory under the Daeja ViewONE installation directory and delete the platform specific jars that are not relevant.
There are platform specific jar files:
Make a backup of the Daeja ViewONE 5.0.3 files in the relevant locations in your web application server. For the server files that will be the web application's WEB-INF/lib directory. For the client, it will be where the package client files were copied to. For example v1files directory in the web application.
Note: To upgrade to iFix 8, please ensure that both the client and the server are updated.
If you want to remove the iFix 8 from your installation and revert back to the original 5.0.3 version, you need to replace the files in you installation directories with the backed up files, then copy the files into the correct places in your web application server.
If you use the IBM Daeja ViewONE Version 5.0.3 uninstallation program to remove IBM Daeja ViewONE 5.0.3 and the iFix 8 from your system, then some of the files may be left on your file system and you will need to remove them manually.

** Copying and pasting mutliples pages, several times, may lead to thumbnail view not responding in Document Builder mode.
When pasting multiple pages, several times, in Document Builder mode may result in the thumbnail view failing to update on subsequent paste actions.

Important Note: This is NOT the Java heap running out of memory
but rather, the inflator / deflator process used for delivery of
PNG tiles makes a call to use external native memory and if
enough of these calls are made on a system with relatively low
native memory before the Garbage Collection can occur, it is
possible to encounter this condition.

When opening a local document the viewer displays a 404 document not found message.

IO26139 PNG IMAGES CANNOT BE DISPLAYED WHEN SETTING CODEBASECONTEXT HTML PARAMETER
When HTML parameter is added to open a png file, the following error is output to screen: "Unable to display document: Failed to load document, status: An error that occurred while retrieving the requested page".

*IO26236 * FOR SOME PDF FILES, THE COLOR OF SOME CHARACTERS IS RENDERED DIFFERENTLY WHILE SOME CHARACTERS ARE NOT VISIBLE AT ALL
For some PDF files, the color of some characters is rendered differently to others while some characters are not visible at all.

*IO26242 * EMAIL ATTACHMENT DISPLAY IS LIMITED TO 25
When displaying emails the number of attachments is limited to twenty five.
An email with more than twenty five attachments will show the full list of attachments
in the email header summary, but only twenty five of these attachments will be listed
in the email attachment tree, and be viewable, in the user interface.
The restriction of 25 has been increased to 100.

IO26136 WORD DOCUMENT MISSING ADDRESS IN TOP RIGHT

IO26137 WORD DOCUMENT FAILS WITH TRUNCATION ERROR
Opening a Word document fails with following error 'This document has been truncated because of an error that occurred while retrieving the requested page'.

** When pasting pages in Document Builder mode, the Document Changed event is fired several times.
When using copy/cut and paste in Document Builder mode, several Document Changed events (84) are fired on paste. This makes it hard to track the changes within the document. In the new behaviour, one Document Changed event is fired instead, this event contains, in the JSON payload, N copyPages actions, where N is the number of pages pasted, and X rotatedPages actions, where X is the number of pages pasted that contain a rotation.

** On JavaScript call, addDocumentPage(), the thumbnail of the last added page remains highlighted
When calling the JavaScript call, addDocumentPage(), the thumbnail of the previously added page remains highlighted. When the JavaScript call is called mutliple times, the thumbnails of all added pages remain highlighted giving the impression of a selection when no selection is being made.

IO25578 LOADING DOCUMENT USING PAGE ARRAY AFTER ATTEMPTING TO LOAD EMPTY PAGE HANGS CLIENT.
When trying to load a PageN document with URLs to non existent pages, using the page array JavaScript methods, the client hangs waiting for the remaining pages to render. This only occurs when thumbnails and/or quicknav are enabled. The issue is related to the timing of subsequent server requests in relation to the return of the invalid server request to the client and the relevant error handling.

If a TIF image is rotated via the rotation tag embedded in the TIF structure itself,

The Stamp Annotation Date Format does not adhere to the client locale. Prior to this fix date format was of type '2018 January 01' (yyyy MMMMM dd)

IO26059 ADD ANNOTATIONS JS METHOD, WHEN USING PAGE
When user tries to add large number of annotations using JS method time taken to add these annotations is very long.

** MovePage API page index incorrect on differing document sources.
When moving pages with differing document sources, the page index for the pages are incorrect and may lead to pages not being displayed or the wrong page in the document being displayed.

** Thumbnail is reduced to a dot after two rotations
When a user switches from thumbs only view to full page, performs two rotations and then switches back to thumbs only view, the thumbnail for the rotated page is just a dot.

IO25405 SOME PDF DOCUMENTS CONTAINING LARGE QUANTITIES OF VECTOR GRAPHICS HAVE A HIGH LOAD TIME
Some PDF documents that contain a large number of vector graphics may take an excessively long time to load.

** The payload of the Document Changed Event contains actions in the incorrect order for movePage
The JSON payload returned with event 84, Document Changed, contained the actions for RemovePage and CopyPage in the incorrect order. The correct order is a CopyPage action before the RemovePage action.

IO25419 PDF DOCUMENT RENDERS WITH INCORRECT CHARACTERS ON AIX6.1
Some PDF documents render with incorrect characters when viewed on AIX servers. This is caused by the required font data being missing or unable to be found on the system.

** Low resolution display at the bottom of a page after scrolling
When changing from a thumbs only view to full page the document is displayed in high resolution at the top of the page, but when the user scrolls down, using the cursor key or the mouse wheel, the bottom of the page is displayed in a low resolution.

IO26174 SOME PDF DOCUMENTS CONTAINING INVALID EXTRA ENTRIES RESULTS IN A FORMAT EXCEPTION
Some PDF documents that contain invalid extra entries lead to a number format exception that prevents the PDF from displaying.

IO25112 CERTAIN IMAGE VIEWING MODES ARE NOT STICKY BETWEEN PAGES OF A DOCUMENT
Zoom to 100% and enhance modes are not maintained on changing page.
When a user selects 'Zoom to 100%' or an enhance mode setting and changes page
the setting reverts to the default value for pages not yet viewed.
'Zoom to 100%' will now be maintained across all pages viewed whilst it is selected.
When an image enhancement setting is selected, it will be used on all pages that have not
previously been viewed. Pages that have already been viewed will be displayed with the enhancement setting
that they were last viewed at (the settings are lost on closing the document).
As a result of the two interface improvements the JavaScript API also has the following enhancements:
setScale(int scale)
will now accept a value of 3
, meaning 'Zoom to 100%'.
getEnhanceMode()
has been added and will return the current enhance mode set on the viewer.

IO25516 WORD DOCUMENT FOOTER IS OVERLAPPING AND MISALIGNED
Using Microsoft Office module the Word document footer is overlapping and misaligned.

** Thumbnail is blank after annotation drawn and rotate
Thumbnails are blank when starting in a view with thumbnails, switching to full page view, drawing an annotation, rotating the page and switching back to a thumbnail view.

IO25490 TIF IMAGE DISPLAYS INCORRECTLY WITH PORTION OF IMAGE DUPLICATED OR SWAPPED
When viewing some tiff files the image displayed shows part of the image repeated or swapped with an adjacent part of the image. This will only occur at the end of a page.

IO26061 VIEWER CACHE FOLDER GETS FILLED UP WITH OPEN FILE HANDLES FOR LANGUAGE RESOURCE FILES
If there is a mixture of languages in use across browser setting and viewer setting, multiple instances of the language files are downloaded into the v1files/viewone/rep folder (such as en.dat or he.dat) and not closed out correctly resulting in server running out of open file handles.

** DOCUMENTS CAN BE SAVED LOCALLY.
This feature improves the user experience by providing a button to perform the save action.
The availability of this feature in the UI is controlled by using the fileButtonSave
parameter.
Setting this parameter to 'true' enables this feature, while setting a value of 'false' disables it.
The default value is 'true'.
Note: If the browser is configured for 'auto download' or 'disable download prompt', then the user will not be presented with a save dialog.

IO26143 TEXT RENDERING OF PDF DOCUMENTS IN LOW ZOOM LEVEL IS NOT CRISP
In certain situations the page size calculation might be slightly incorrect which results in a blurry effect on rendered text when the zoom level is low.

** Page scale buttons do not stay synchronized with the displayed view
The page scale buttons, 'fit to window width', 'fit to window height' and 'fit to window' control the size of the page displayed. When the page scale is changed and then the user views another page the selected scale is maintained, but the page scale button does not always show the same setting. For example, the page may be displayed at 'fit to window width', but the 'fit to window' button is selected.

IO26095 CHANGE OF PAGE NUMBER FORMAT IS NOT HONORED WHEN RENDERING WORD DOCUMENT
When a Word document has two distinct numbered sections, for example, pages i,ii,iii,iv,v followed by (in same document) pages 1,2,3,4,5, the pages are displayed with a single numerical format, for example, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.

Document Builder mode.
When this method is called during Document Builder mode, a Json payload is returned representing the current state of the recipe
constructed from the actions performed on the loaded document.

** The Document Changed Event, now contains a Json payload that specifies the action that caused the document change.
This feature allows integrators to track changes made to a document as they are made rather than just at build time.
The Document Changed event, 84, now includes a Json payload that contains the action(s) that caused that particular
change in the document.
For example, movePage(1, 5)
will cause a Document Changed event that includes a Json payload containing two actions;
A Remove pages action for page 1 and a copy pages action for page 1 to move to position 5.

** EML DOCUMENTS ARE DISPLAYING EXTENDED LINE BEYOND LEFT MARGIN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.

** New move page JavaScript API
This feature allows integrators to move a page via a JavaScript API.
The move page API is structured as follows movePage(int pageFrom, int pageTo)
where pageFrom is the page we are going to move and pageTo is the destination point for this page.
For example, movePage(1, 5)
will start with a page list of '1, 2, 3, 4, 5'; and end with a page list of '2, 3, 4, 5, 1'.
Once a move operation is complete, a single DOCUMENT_CHANGED event (84) will be fired.
Annotations are moved with the page.
This API is only available when the viewer is in Document Builder mode.

IO25436 LOW RESOLUTION DISPLAY AT BOTTOM OF THE PAGE WHEN SWITCHING FROM THUMBSONLY VIEW
The display of the document can be blurry when scrolling to the bottom of the page after switching viewmode from thumbsonly to any other viewmode.

** HTML parameter annotateEdit
blocks the JavaScript API method addAnnotation
The annotateEdit
parameter should only prevent user interaction with
the annotations. A separate parameter, annotationJavascriptExtensions
is used to allow the use of the API method addAnnotation(String)
.

** When the keepScroll
parameter is set to true large documents may cause the viewer to become inoperable
The keepScroll
parameter enables the scroll position to be maintained on page changes,
but when it used with large documents the viewer can become inoperable, and may cause
an Out of memory error rendering the browser window inoperable.

Work around:
Remove the keepScroll
parameter from the viewer configuration.
IO26024 SCRIPT SRC AND HOSTING PAGE LOCATION MISMATCH PREVENTS VIEWER STARTUP
If the <script> tag pointing to the viewer code location (viewone.js) references a host, port, or path
that differs from the location of the hosting HTML page (ie. the location in the browser URL) then the viewer
will fail to start. This is due to further viewer code being loaded via path calculated on the server rather
than a relative path calculated on the client.
Note: Loading viewer code, which is JavaScript based,
from a different location to the hosting page may be subject to Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS)
restrictions.

Navigation User Interface enhancement Toolbar page information label includes the total page count
The page information label in the top toolbar clearly shows at a glance the current page number and the total page count of the document that the user is currently viewing.

** Changes to the color of arrow annotations are not reflected in the User Interface
Changing the color of an arrow annotation using the color dialog picker from the annotation context menu toolbar does not reflect the change in the rendering of the annotation in the User Interface. The color information is saved correctly.

IO25796 PRINT DIALOG "ALL" OPTION IS GREYED OUT
The print dialog 'All' option under the 'Pages to print' section is greyed out and cannot be selected. If the user chooses the 'Current', or 'Pages' options before pressing 'Prepare File', they will be unable to select the 'All' option for the same or subsequent documents.

Work around: Clearing local storage will clear the previously selected print option and allow the viewer to default back to the 'All' option
IO25973 ERROR LOGGING INTERRUPTS THE ABILITY TO START THE CLIENT
Exceptions occurring in the retrieval and caching of repository documents prevent new instances of the viewer being loaded.

The annotation autosave process does not take place on close after a second document is loaded via the JavaScript function openFile.

When performing rapid navigation of pages an error message is sometimes displayed indicating that a render failure occurred.

Work around: The dialog can be dismissed and the page displayed by reusing the page-up and page-down
buttons
** Some PDF documents containing slideshows may render with missing content.
A PDF document containing a slideshow may render with missing content due to an out of bounds exception.

IO25674 HTML EMAIL WITH INVALID STYLE BLOCK DOES NOT DISPLAY CORRECTLY.
HTML Emails with invalid Style Blocks fails to display correctly.

When the viewer is closed after printing an iFrame may be left in the browser document object model.

IO24740 AT STARTUP THE VIEWER OVERRIDES THE BROWSER WINDOW NAME
The name of the browser window is replaced with "com.ibm.dv.client.Viewer" when the viewer loads. This may break existing application logic that seeks to access a window it has created.

IO25823 REPOSITORY ACCESS ERROR CAN CAUSE CORRUPTION IN SERVER CACHE
When the document repository returns a non-successful response code, a corruption can occur in the server-side docstore cache. As a result of this corruption, the client will not being able to view a document. An example non-successful response code would be 403 Forbidden.

IO25945 PRINTOUT OF NEWLY ADDED AND SAVED ANNOTATIONS HAS ANNOTATIONS RENDERED INCORRECTLY ON PRINTED PAGE
When a document is printed straight after a newly created annotation has been saved, the newly created annotation can appear in the wrong place.

When page array is used, sometimes the annotations toolbar is not enabled when the viewer is loaded. This occurs if the HTML parameter quickNavigateView is set to false. The toolbar becomes enabled if an action is done in the viewer such as changing page, changing page zoom, changing browser size, etc. after it is loaded.

TIFF files that contain multiple pages should define the TIFF PageNumber tag with the first page having a page number, 0. TIFF images where the page number does not start at 0 fail to display.

** ANNOTATION INCREASE LINE WIDTH RESULTS IN INCORRECT TEXT ANNOTATION SIZE
Clicking the 'Increase Line Width' on a text annotation results in the annotation decreasing in size. Clicking the 'Increase Line Width' a second time results in the annotation correctly increasing in size. Saving the annotation and reloading the viewer results in the annotation being larger than when saved.

** ANNOTATION DECREASE LINE WIDTH RESULTS IN INCORRECT TEXT ANNOTATION SIZE
Clicking the 'Decrease Line Width' on a text annotation results in the annotation disappearing.

Circle, Oval, Rectangle, Square, Polygon, Freehand, Line and Arrow annotation types support default semi-transparent border.

The Build Number associated with this package is contained in build.txt, which is located in the client/v1files directory. Historically this contained the full product version number but now it only contains the ViewONE internal build number.
As per the next MOD release of IBM Daeja ViewONE Virtual, the jiburner API is going to be deprecated. The document will be built with the source document as it is saved in the repository. The document is also built by using the annotations that are saved in the repository, unless annotations have been edited. The following scenarios explain the effects of this behavior:
Result: The document currently displayed in the viewer differs from the newly built document in the system. To prevent this issue occurring, the master document should be locked or checked out when it is retrieved for document builder.
Note Versioned documents will not be affected by this issue. This will only affect situations where the document that a url refers to has changed.

IBM Daeja ViewONE Virtual is designed to support as many file types as possible. However, the product is not able to render every type of file with the same accuracy as native applications, such as Microsoft Word. The flexibility of the viewer can lead to differences in the way that the documents are displayed between the native application and the viewer. The severity of the differences varies depending on the complexity of the file type. In particular, PDF files and Microsoft Office files are difficult to render with complete accuracy in a universal viewer.
Excel spreadsheet load times are impacted based on the size and complexity of the Excel document. In order to improve load times, IBM Daeja ViewONE does support tuning capabilities, such as breaking up the Excel document presentation into multiple pages. Please be aware, as this behaviour may not be optimal for your end user viewing experience.
After a document is permenantly redacted and the user selects Download, they are
normally prompted to save the document with a file name based on the original
un-redacted document. For instance mypresentation.ppt
will default to
mypresentation.tif
. In this version the user might be prompted with a filename
such as 41f96b20b97f431ebd4efd85245f1f72.tif
instead. The user can still
change the name to something more meaningful.
If a pageN document is open in the viewer, the user cannot switch to document builder mode. The user remains in the edit mode in which the document was opened. The following scenario explains the effects of this behavior:
Scenario 1:
Result: This switch is not permitted and the user will stay in their current mode.
To enter document builder mode, the user must close the pageN document and then switch to document builder mode.
DocN documents are not supported in conjunction with document builder mode. The combination of these features may result in unusual and/or unexpected behavior.
Document builder is able to support TIFF and PDF files with the exception of email attachments. TIFF and PDF files that are attached to emails cannot be used as source files for a new document.
PDF files with access control flags set by the owner of the document cannot be used as a source document for document building where they require a password to view the document or where the owner has indicated that the content may not be copied.
Annotations that have the semi-transparent property set to true, the transparent property set to true and a fill color set can appear to blend the line and fill colors near the edges.
Annotations that have the transparent property set to true and a fill color set to black are not printed transparent .
