6.   Installation and configuration

6.1 Before installation

6.1.1 Log in to the Process Manager server as root.

6.1.2 Set the environment for the previous Process Manager installation, making sure that $JS_HOME is set as the top-level Process Manager installation directory.


For example:

- On csh or tcsh, run the following command:

source $JS_HOME/conf/cshrc.js

- On sh, ksh or bash, run the following command:

. $JS_HOME/conf/profile.js


6.1.3 Stop the Process Manager server.

jadmin stop


6.2 Installation steps

6.2.1 Navigate to the patch installation directory.


For example, run the following command:

cd $JS_HOME/$JS_VERSION/install/


6.2.2 Copy the fix patch to the installation directory.


For example, run the following command:

cp ppm10.2_lnx26-x64-490670.tar.gz $JS_HOME/$JS_VERSION/install/


6.2.3 Install the fix patch.


For example, run the following command for Linux X86_64 systems:

./patchinstall ppm10.2_lnx26-x64-490670.tar.gz


6.3 After installation

6.3.1 Start the Process Manager server.

jadmin start

6.3.2 Restart all client applications including Flow Editor, Flow Manager, and Calendar Editor.


6.4 Uninstallation steps

6.4.1 Log in to the Process Manager server as root.

6.4.2 Set the environment for the previous Process Manager installation, making sure that $JS_HOME is set as the top-level Process Manager installation directory.


For example:

- On csh or tcsh, run the following command:

source $JS_HOME/conf/cshrc.js

6.4.3 Stop the Process Manager server.

6.4.4 Use the patch installer to uninstall the fix patch.


For example, run the following command for Linux X86_64 systems:

./patchinstall -r ppm10.2_lnx26-x64-490670.tar.gz


6.4.5 Start the Process Manager server.

jadmin start


6.4.6 Restart all client applications including Flow Editor, Flow Manager, and Calendar Editor.
