P102528. Fix to prevent jobs from failing to run due to a syscall failure on ARM v8 hosts while MEMLIMIT or SWAPLIMIT is set at the queue level.

Readme documentation for IBM Spectrum LSF 10.1 Fix 485700 including installation-related instructions, prerequisites and co-requisites, and list of fixes.

This fix addresses the following issue:

On ARM v8 hosts,  after the first job starts to run, all later jobs fail to run under the following conditions. 

1. The local sbatchd is restarted.

2. MEMLIMIT=32768 or SWAPLIMIT=32768 is set at the queue level 

3. cgroup support is enabled, according to the following parameters in the lsf.conf file:

LSF_PROCESS_TRACKING=Y

LSF_LINUX_CGROUP_ACCT=Y

LSB_RESOURCE_ENFORCE=“memory cpu”

5. Installation and Configuration

5.1 Before installation

(LSF_TOP=Full path to the top-level installation directory of LSF.) 

1) Log on to the LSF master host as root 

2) Set your environment: 

- For csh or tcsh: % source LSF_TOP/conf/cshrc.lsf 

- For sh, ksh, or bash: $ . LSF_TOP/conf/profile.lsf 


5.2 Installation steps

1) Go to the patch install directory: cd $LSF_ENVDIR/../10.1/install/ 

2) Copy the patch file to the install directory $LSF_ENVDIR/../10.1/install/ 

3) Run patchinstall: ./patchinstall <patch> 

4) Run badmin qinact all


5.3 After installation

1) Log on to the LSF master host as root 

2) Run lsadmin resrestart all

3) Run badmin hrestart all

4) Run badmin qact all


5.4 Uninstallation

1) Log on to the LSF master host as root 

2) Go to the patch install directory: cd $LSF_ENVDIR/../10.1/install/ 

3) Run badmin qinact all

4) Run ./patchinstall -r <patch> 

5) Run lsadmin resrestart all

6) Run badmin hrestart all

7) Run badmin qact all
