IBM Platform Symphony 7.1.1 Interim Fix 479286 Readme File
Abstract
This fix enhances the error logging for the Platform Symphony.
Description
The LIM logs do not show clear error messages when the host cache file (such as kernel/work/lim/hostcache) is inaccessible. This fix increases the log level when the host cache file is inaccessible, from DEBUG to WARNING, so that the LIM logs will show clear error messages.
This fix applies only to the following platform:
Linux 64-bit

4.1 Before installation
1. Disable all applications and shut down the cluster.
>
soamcontrol app disable all
> egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown all
2. Back up files.
Log on to all hosts in the cluster and back up
the following file that will be replaced by this fix:
>
$EGO_TOP/3.3/linux-x86_64/etc/lim
4.2 Installation steps
Log on to all hosts in the cluster and replace
your current binaries with the downloaded ones in the following directory:
>
$EGO_TOP/3.3/linux-x86_64/etc/lim
4.3 After installation
1. Verify the installation.
Run the following commands:
lim -V
The following are example output of
successfully verifying the installation:
> lim -V

Start the cluster and enable the application.

4.4 Uninstallation
1. Disable all applications and shutdown the cluster.
> soamcontrol app disable all
> egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown all
2. Uninstall.
Log on to all hosts in cluster and restore the
backup file for the following binaries:
>
$EGO_TOP/3.3/linux-x86_64/etc/lim
3. Start
the cluster and enable the application.
> egosh ego start all
> soamcontrol app enable <appName>
