In a cluster that includes thousands of compute hosts, VEMKD performance might be impacted when it evaluates hosts tens of thousands of times for allocation resource requirements. This interim fix enhances VEMKD performance in a large-scale cluster with IBM Spectrum Symphony 7.1.2 and IBM Spectrum Conductor with Spark 2.2 installed.

and install this interim fix in your cluster.
System requirements
Linux x86_64
Installation
a. Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator, and shut
down all the master and master-candidate hosts:
> egosh user logon -u Admin
-x Admin
> egosh ego shutdown $host_name
b. Log on to each management host in the cluster and back up the
following file, which will be replaced by this interim fix:
$EGO_TOP/3.5/linux-x86_64/etc/vemkd
c.
On each management
host, install this interim fix:
> tar zxfo
sym-7.1.2.0-cws-2.2.0.0_x86_64-build478187.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP
d. Start all your master and master-candidate hosts:
> egosh ego start $host_name
5. Uninstallation
If required, follow the instructions
in this section to uninstall this interim fix in your cluster.
a. Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator, and shut down
all the master and master candidate hosts:
> egosh user logon -u Admin
-x Admin
> egosh ego shutdown $host_name
b. Log on to each management host in the cluster and restore the
following file from your backup:
$EGO_TOP/3.5/linux-x86_64/etc/vemkd
c.
Start all your
master and master-candidate hosts:
> egosh ego start $host_name
