System requirements

Linux x86_64

Prerequisite

Platform Symphony 6.1.1 must be installed on Linux hosts in your cluster.

Before installation

a.      Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator, disable your applications, and shut down the cluster:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
> soamcontrol app disable all
> egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown all

b.      Back up the following files on all hosts in your cluster:

o   Log on to management and compute hosts in the cluster, and back up the following files, which will be replaced by this fix:

> $EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9
> $EGO_TOP/soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9
> $EGO_TOP/soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

o   Log on to client hosts in the cluster, and back up the following files, which will be replaced by this fix:

> $SOAM_HOME/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9
> $SOAM_HOME/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

o   Log on to Platform Symphony Developer Edition hosts, and back up the following files, which will be replaced by this fix:

> $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9
> $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

Installation

o   Log on to your management and compute hosts and decompress the tar.gz file to your Platform Symphony installation directory:

> tar zxfo sym6.1.1_lnx26-lib23-x64_build467439.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP

o   Log on to your client hosts, decompress the tar.gz file to a local directory, and replace the old libraries with the decompressed ones:

> cp soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9 $SOAM_HOME/lib64/
> cp soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9 $SOAM_HOME/lib/

o   Log on to Platform Symphony Developer Edition hosts, decompress the tar.gz file to a local directory, and replace the old libraries with the decompressed ones:

> cp soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9 $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/
> cp soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9 $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/

After installation

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and start the cluster:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
> egosh ego start all
> soamcontrol app enable AppName

5.   Uninstallation

a.      Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator, disable your applications, and shut down the cluster:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
> soamcontrol app disable all
> egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown all

b.      Restore your backup on all hosts in your cluster:

o   Log on to management and compute hosts in the cluster and restore your backup for the following files:

> $EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9
> $EGO_TOP/soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9
> $EGO_TOP/soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

o   Log on to client hosts in the cluster and restore your backup for the following files:

> $SOAM_HOME/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9
> $SOAM_HOME/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

o   Log on to Platform Symphony Developer Edition hosts and restore your backup for the following files:

> $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9
> $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

c.      Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and start the cluster:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
> egosh ego start all
> soamcontrol app enable AppName
