This fix resolves issues with Process Manager resources and resource groups if Process Manager is not integrated with Application Center; resolves resource sychronization task issues with resources, resource permissions, and role permissions if Process Manager is integrated with Application Center; and resolves issues with high availability failover if the master Application Center server goes down while sychronizing with LSF.

This fix resolves the following issues:
- When Process Manager is not integrated with Application Center, Process Manager resources and resource groups are still loaded into the database.
- When Process Manager is not integrated with Application Center, Process Manager related resources and resource groups are still visible for the end user.
- When Process Manager is integrated with Application Center, all resources, resource permissions and role permissions increase every time the resource synchronization task finishes.
- In high availability (HA) mode, if the master Application Center server is down while synchronizing with LSF, the backup Application Center server takes over as the master server, but the server does not know if it needs to run the synchronization task.

  • 5.1  Before installation
    • Log on to the IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center server host as root.
    • Set your IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center environment.
      For csh or tcsh:
      % source /opt/pac/cshrc.platform
      For sh, ksh, or bash:
      $ . /opt/pac/profile.platform
    • Determine the location of your existing IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center installation.
      #rpm -q --queryformat "%{INSTPREFIXES}\n" pcc-appcenter
    • Back up your existing installation.
      For example:
      #cp -rfp /opt/pac /opt/pac.bak
      
    • Check and record the version and build number of your existing installation of IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center in case you need to roll back the fix.
      pmcadmin -V
    • Stop all IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center services.
      perfadmin stop all
      pmcadmin stop
  • 5.2  Installation steps for IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center 9.1.4.2

    The following steps assume IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center is installed in /opt/pac.
    Replace with your actual installation directory.

    • As root, log on to your IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center 9.1.4.2 host.
    • Extract pac9.1.4.2_standard_linux-x64.tar.Z.
      tar -xzvf pac9.1.4.2_standard_linux-x64.tar.Z
    • Enter the extracted directory.
      cd pac9.1.4.2_standard_linux-x64
    • Set your IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center environment.
      For csh or tcsh:
      % source /opt/pac/cshrc.platform
      For sh, ksh, or bash:
      $ . /opt/pac/profile.platform
    • Install the Fix Pack
      rpm -Uvh --prefix ${PAC_TOP} --nopreun pcc-appcenter-9.1.4.2-465863.x86_64.rpm
      Note: Replace ${PAC_TOP} with your actual installation directory.
    • Update Database
      /usr/bin/mysql --user=root --password=${MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD} -e "use ${DBNAME}; alter table CDI_STATUS add MASTER_HOST VARCHAR(1024);"
      Note: Replace ${MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD} with your database password for root and replace ${DBNAME} with your actual database name.
    • Start IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center services.
      perfadmin start all
      pmcadmin start
• Uninstallation
  • 6.1  Before uninstallation

    Stop all IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center services:

    perfadmin stop all
    pmcadmin stop
  • 6.2  Roll back the fix

    The following steps assume IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center is installed in /opt/pac.
    Replace with your actual installation directory.

    • Determine the location of your existing IBM Application Center installation.
      #rpm -q --queryformat "%{INSTPREFIXES}\n" pcc-appcenter
    • Download the RPM package for a version previous to the Fix, for example, pcc-appcenter-9.1.4.2-123456.x86_64.rpm.
    • Set your IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center environment:
      For csh or tcsh:
      % source /opt/pac/cshrc.platform
      For sh, ksh, or bash:
      $ . /opt/pac/profile.platform
    • Install the IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center RPM package. For example:
      #rpm -Uvh --prefix ${PAC_TOP} --oldpackage --nopreun pcc-appcenter-9.1.4.2-123456.x86_64.rpm
    • Roll back the database
      /usr/bin/mysql --user=root --password=${MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD} -e "use ${DBNAME}; alter table CDI_STATUS drop MASTER_HOST;"
      Note: Replace ${MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD} with your database password for root and replace ${DBNAME} with your actual database name.
    • If you have made any customizations, reapply your customizations from the backup directory.
    • Start IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center services
      perfadmin start all
      pmcadmin start
    • Clear your browser cache before logging in to IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center.
      This is required on every browser that accesses IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center. Otherwise, IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center does not work properly.
