Readme File for IBM® Platform Symphony 7.1 Interim Fix 464444

Readme File for: IBM Platform Symphony

Product Release: 7.1 Fix Pack 1

Update Name: Interim Fix 464444

Fix ID: sym-7.1-build464444-unic

Publication Date: August 18, 2017

Windows hosts, in a large cluster, might become unavailable when the following error is reported in the LIM log: “Failed in sending/receiving a message: Message too long”. This interim fix provides a resolution for this issue.

With this fix, the default network send/receive buffer size is increased from 16,384 bytes to 81,920 bytes. If this value is not enough for your cluster, update this value by configuring the EGO_MASTER_ANN_BUF_SIZE parameter in the ego.conf file on each host. Enlarging this value impacts only the processes that send and receive network packages, allowing these processes to create more memory space for sending and receiving network packages. It does not impact the transferred package size on the network.

NOTE: This interim applies to all hosts in your Platform Symphony 7.1 Fix Pack 1 cluster. Ensure that you apply it to every host in the cluster.
